Thread: Confused about Fan Shot
Ok, I'm sure this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times; but I did a search and kept reading conflicting reports on how Fan Shot works NOW.
It seems it went back and forth from hitting multiple targets to hitting one target multiple times.
I had always been using fan shot with the belief that I was only hitting the single target I was aiming at. But now I have read things that imply it is a cone effect shot. I just hit Master Pistoleer yesterday, so I figure I better get my facts straight....can anyone clarify things for me? And while you're at it, how about that new multiple target shot (I think that is what it is called) that I just got now at Master....I heard the shot sucks, but can anyone explain in more detail?
Fanshot does indeed hit multiple targets. The mechanics of it all is a bit scetchy as sometimes you need to damage all the mobs first that you want to be affected by your fanshot. I noticed that sometimes it hits them anyway.
Personally i send in my pet from 50-60m, put a bleed on all the mobs that i want to kill and then switch back to the target my pet is hitting and start pounding away with fanshot.
Yeah, I guess I'll have to pay closer attention and see if other creatures besides the one I'm targeting are taking damage simultaneously. I never noticed before, and I use Fan Shot all the time.
I just read in the "Current State of Affairs" thread that the Multiple Target Shot we get at Master doesn't work at all.

Yep ... if you take a look at the Combat window you'll see that FanShot is hitting multiple creatures. You just need to get them lined up so they're all within the AOE "cone" of fire.
MultiTarget doesn't work, as I said in the Report. I'm trying to get the Devs to fix it.
