Hey Guys. I've just started pistoleer but i'm finding the progress of my levelling painfully slow. I was just wondering if any of you master gunfighters could give me some info to help me out of this rut i seem to be stuck in at the moment.

My current skills are:

Marksman: 4-4-4-4

Scout: 4-1-4-3

Medic: 2-2-2-2

CH: 2-2-0-3

Pistoleer: 0-0-1-1

My planned stats are to be master pistoleer with dirty fighting and bh pistol tree. (Yes i'll drop all the rubbish to get to it )

What i want is some form of 10 step plan. Where should i be levelling? Should i be grouping? What should i be killing for maximum efficiency? What skills should i be getting first to enable me to kill faster and get the XP easier?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I found that my ability to level skyrocketed after learning Feign Death (Dirty Fighting I). It allows you to take on far stronger creatures than you'd be able to otherwise. I don't have any pets and have rarely grouped since getting Feign Death.

If I were you, I'd go to one of the adventure worlds and group with people until you've reached DF1. During that time, learn the effective distances of your weapons, learn to examine targets prior to attacking them (so you attack with the correct weapon). After that, find doctors, get buffed, buy some Muon or Fishak Surprise, and go back to the adventure worlds ... you should be able to solo huurton or voritors at that point.

You've got CH 2,2,0,0 and you're having trouble leveling? First thing you should do is get a decent tank with your CH skills (GSPs at the moment are still worth something) Now that you've got a decent tank go out and get a DX2 and an FWG5.

I couldn't help but notice you also have medic skills, buy a krayt of really good stim Bs.

When you've got all these things put together...go out to Dantooine alone.

Take any and all huurton missions you can find, howlers, stalkers, matrons etc. Use your DX2 and FWG5 depending on which kind you're killing. Normally I'd assume a CH would know how to use their pet to tank, but I'll go over it anyway. Target a huurton, send your pet in to kill it (don't attack yet yourself), wait until they all do the BAF thing on your pet. Once you get the tank set up, simply go through and stack bleeds on all the huurtons (health 1 and health 2). Now that all the huurtons are bleeding simply select the one your pet is fighting and body shot 2 it to death (the bleeds will make sure you're getting pistol xp on the other huurtons even when you're not shooting them). <Repeat>

A side bar to this, huurtons give massive amounts of woolyhide, and tailors and armorsmiths can't get enough of the stuff.

Yeh, i have a GSP atm. It's not a case of having trouble levelling. It's the fact i need 5 mill + XP that seems so daunting to me. I'll try the huurton missions, i did those with a commando friend (Capped myself a huurton baby ) but i never thought about doing them again.

I'll also try the rori technique. See what suits me best.

I am close to Master Pistoleer, currently 4-3-4-3

I go to Restuss, Rori.

1st get Leviasquall missions, good money, good XP per creature and the mission. They are very slow. Get a FWG5.

Tactics: Target the 1st two outside the lair and health shot them. make sure to shoot them a few times in case you forget to later. No points if they die from health shot alone. Then start shooting the lair and spawning as many as you can. As you are health shooting them, then targeting each for kills run around a good size circle keeping the lair in the center. Not too far or the Leviasqualls will heal themselves. This will give you give XP and earn money. As a Master Ranger I also made money off the herbivore meat.

After you are more proficient in Pistoleer skills, or you have a creature, try this. ( I have 3 probots, never used creatures except for mounts.)

Get Tortan missions, great XP and money per creature and mission, but harder to kill.

Tactics: My technique using probots.

The lairs always have 6 Tortons. I pull up my first probot and have it attack the tortons while I health shot 1 and 2 them then body shot 3 until they are dead. This usually wears my first probot down to nothing, however the tortons attack only my droid. I pull my 2nd Probot and spawn the next Torton, if you are careful only one spawns and you can deal with them one by one. This one usually attacks you but the probot is also engaging. Repeat this until all 6 tortons are dead and you have destroyed the lair. You can average 15k-20K experiance from thistype mission. As a Master Ranger I made a killing off the wooly hide.
