Thread: Bleeds: Do they steal XP?

Been in and out of the game, and haven't kept up on all the changes. Some questions about bleeds:

What I know:

1. Back in the day, you could stack bleeds on a target. HealthShot1 and 2 would stack, doing a ton of damage each. This has been removed I believe, or atleast nerfed to uselessness.

2. You could stack a bleed on a target, and then switch to another weapon, and all the XP dumped into whatever weapon you were using. This has been removed.

What I don't know:

If I bleed a target with a pistol special, and then continue attacking it, will that bleed damage xp just poof? Or will it go to my pistol XP?

My current thinking is that it poofs.

Any info would be appreciated.

#1 Bleeds no longer stack

#2 The XP bait and switch no longer works, I believe there is no XP for bleed damage, only the initial hit(not certain though)

Ladies and gentlemen of the supposed jury, Chef's attorney would certainly want you to believe that his client wrote "Stinky Britches" ten years ago. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself!

But ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider: Ladies and gentlemen this [pointing to a picture of Chewbacca] is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk, but Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now, think about that. THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE! (Background: Damnit! What? He's using the Chewbacca defense!) Why would a Wookiee—an eight foot tall Wookiee—want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

But more important, you have to ask yourself, what does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense!

Look at me, I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense!

And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation... does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense.

If Chewbacca lived on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

I used to open up on an enemy in PvE with my suite of bleeds/burns (pistoleer and BH). I noticed I was getting less xp for mobs that bled a lot, so now I do so only when necessary.

All dots now remove XP from the final grant. This was done to stop all marksman professions from bleeding things they can't normally kill and getting 5k for it. This has hurt commandos more than anyone as the flamer is the commando weapon used these days and it steals XP from their recently reduced 3k xp cap. They should really just grind on the acid rifle (yes ACID RIFLE) as it has no dot and therefore can't steal their xp, or better yet, look at the launcher pistol maybe...

Another concern for the dots for xp were combat medics throwing diseases and poisons and one-shotting mobs for thousands ofCOMBAT xp per kill, which has to be stopped.

All this said, the newbie pistoleer is still better off using HS1 and HS2 to grind to better skills despite xp lost to bleeds, sad but true.
