Thread: what is the best pistol for grinding?

I just bought a Geo Stun Pistol and its good but it when I go to kill lairs it does no damage. Can I use acid pistol for creatures and Lairs? Or should I stay with Energy for these missions. also what is the name of weapon that I should use and where can I find it. Thanks

Unless you have pistol techniques 2 in pistoleer you are not certified to use the genosian sonic blaster. Without certification you will not do any damage.
What level of pistol are you? If you are at least novice pistoleer carry around a good republic blaster, DXR2, and FWG5 and you will be ok.

Ok. Well another reason you may have been doing minimal damage with the geonosian is that it has no armor pentration. Against some targets the gun is just plain awful hehe

I perfer the Dx2 since it does Acid damage and has light armor piercing. I only use my geo on the rare occasion that I pvp or on Nightsisters since they 100% resist on all damage types except Kinetic and Stun. Thats not to say I dont have a range of other pistols in my pack for wahtever the situation calls for. Thats what I like a pistoleer, a gun for every occasion.

What weapon you use should be dictated somewhat by what you are trying to kill, in my opinion. Some creatures are resistant to acid, some resistant to energy etc.. try doing an /examine on the creature to see what has the lowest resistance or vulnerability and then using that pistol. One of the strengths of Pistoleer is the many types of damage we can do with the different pistols. I mastered Pistoleer using the Republic Blaster (Energy) DX2 (Acid) and FWG5 (Heat).
