When you returned from the Combat Balance Summit, you mentioned that dual wielding would not be part of the Revamp, but "sometime after Jump to Lightspeed" (which, what isn't...).Pistoleers have been asking for this since release. Can we get a little firmer timeline on when we might see this on the devs schedule? Are we talking post GCW & Smuggler revamps as well or somewhere inbetween those and the combat revamp? After the revamp as a whole, this is probably THE thing that I (andmany other pistoleers I'm sure) aremost looking forward to.

Dual-Wield is more of a cosmetic thing, I would think that overall balancing and fixing of the profession would be somewhat more important...

Im sure dual wielding will make the pistoleer more efficient in some way, maybe while lowering accuracy, but of course im sure the answer is closer to It will get done when there is time...

Sorry to butt in, as I'm rather new to pistoleer.... but wouldn't the concept of dual wielding have to fall in with the combat rebalance? Using two weapons as opposed to one would certainly change the way someone fights... so wouldn't they have to balance it so that say, a pistoleer using two guns is equal with a pistoleer using one? Just curious what the situation is.

I'm guessing here, but I'd imagine dual wield would come after the GCW andSmuggler revamp. It hasn't been a burning priority. The GCW is the core of the game after all, and Smugglers have been content-less since release (and have probably been strung along worse than anybody). There has been nothing specific on the timeline for dual wield as of yet, publicly or otherwise. Just "eventually."

It's a little funny how often I read about dual wield on these boards, always followed up by "but fix our specials and the speed equation first." It's not that I doubt people believe the core is more important than dual wield.. it's just odd. Like at Fan Fest, a lot of people asked about dual wield. Those who asked about broken specials were few and far between. I wanted to smack the Pistoleer who asked about it at the Star Wars Continuity dev panel.

I guess Pistoleers really really want it, but know deep down that they should eat their vegetables and get some basic bugs fixed first.

Thanks Randonb! For me, I know the revamp is coming and specials and skills will be fixed and just fine after that so I don't worry about it too much. If it doesn't happen...that's fine...I'll be gone. But the Devs know how many customers they'll be loosing if they don't fix those things, so it's just a given that it'll happen. It's just good to know in what order the devs see these things happening so they we can keep our expectations in line with the reality of the situation. To me, I think dual wielding would be concidered part of the revamp so it could be balanced against all other professions' skills, but I guess the devs feel differently.

I think the bugs have to be fixed first. Pistoleer should be a valid fully playable profession before another option for it is tackled.

I think it was the DE-10 that sparked it again Those pistols would just look too cool being dual-wielded hehe.

Im all for it, but I would like the professions fixed and balanced first.

Totally agree about fixing the specials first. I wish they could at least open a little dev time to fix some of the 'easier' specials to do, like PMD2 and PBA2 which are already functional on other levels.
