I am a Master Pistoleer, with Smuggler Dirty Fighting and BH Pistol Spec lines. I have 12 points left, and I've heard about people doing Novice Commando, which I easily have the combat xp for, but just wondering how useful having Novice Commando and the Launcher Cert really is for PvP. Not sure exactly where else I'd use those points, but just looking for opinions and feedback here.

I got Novice Commando for NS hunting and turrets (not that anyone has turrets up anymore). If you are a Reb the LP is good against ATST (don't know anyone that uses them anymore other than to get missions or taunt Rebs). But as far as in PvP some people say it hits Jedi more than other ranged weapons. I tested it out some and it didn't hit anymore than a DE10 or Geo for me /shrug. Can be used to lag melee that have slow computers if you are into dirty tricks, not that I amadvocating that in anyway what so ever.

I have did spend the remaining points on novice commando so that I could grind heavy weapons exp. with the launcher pistol. My plan is to go up the llc tree though for good PVE damage. I will have to drop the dirty fighting smuggler tree to fit in the llc tree. Then once I have gained this I will dropnovice commando and unarmed brawler and spend the points on fs skills. I am going this route as it is impossible to keep triple pistolstemplate and have fs skills. The fs skills seem like good value and too good to pass on. I will still have the bh specials plus acc and speed although I will miss last ditch. Plus I believe that llcIV can deliver quite a punch for PvE and its electrical damage is good for the corvette.

I got novice commando for the launcher pistol to have an extra damage type. Most of the time in pvp I'll use my DE-10 or geo, but as was said before, there are rumors that the launcher lands more often against Jedi. Is this true? I doubt it, but if I'm not landing more shots I'm more than likely lagging them to hell. It's truly an annnoying pistol to use, but it adds that extra damage type and, as was also said before, gets you heavy weapons xp.
