Thread: Master Smuggler and almost Master Pistoleer--best for PVP and PVE???

I am almost done with Master Pistoleer. What is the best thing to kill to finish this grind? Also, for PVE/PVP what are the best weapons and shots to use for a Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler template? I am assuming some type of bleed shot and then Last Ditch/Fan Shot combo? Krayt DE-10 as far as the weapon of choice?

i ripped through pistoleer by buffing and spending all my time in the squall caves on tat. go to bestine... and i believe the cave is right around 0,0.

For the grind, I'm making fast progress through Pistol xp doing Voritor Hunter missions on Dant. Get a solo group and pull missions from the terminal that are around 25k credits (or 28k in an Improved Job Market player city) and go kill. Voritors are around 5k Pistol xp per kill, and the lair is the same. Lair spawns 9+ mobs, so that's 50k pistol xp off one mission. Plus if you have scout, harvest the meat, goes on my server for 50-70cpu or so. Can grind an entire tree of any pistol line in about 3 hours or so, give or take (I have a horrible sense of time, so take that last statement with a grain of salt). Hope that helps.

Alot of this depends on which weapon you are using also...without any BH speed cap is hard to hit and last ditch has a hefty delay...
What I did was plugged all my weapons into a dps calc like this one Comparison Calc and That would let me best decide which specials to use with which weapons.

well, my template is master pistoleer, bh pistols 4 and dirty fighting 4, so I don't get hit with the large delays of last ditch, and get a fire and bleed dot, not to mention eyeshot. I really think if you're going with a pure gunslinger-type template, and aren't using tkm, that this is the way to go. I use a DE-10 mostly in pvp, but also a krayt geo.

I keep a DE-10, Geo Sonic Blaster, and a DX2 on me at all times. Usually I use my DE-10, but there are times when (due to resists) I alternate.
As for shots, it really depends on the circumstances. I tend to use /lastditch for the high damage, bleed shots of course. /panicshot when I need a bit of time (especially to switch to TKA), and finally the most powerful shot in the game ... /feigndeath 
to save your tail in a pinch.

i have found that last ditch is actually quite fast as master pistoleer, sure it isnt as fast as say fan shot, but i can usually get 2 LD's in after 1 lowblow for around 4k a hit on none armored mobs.
all i need a is a few pistol speed tapes and FS speed 3 and i'll be laughing, well laughing even more than i already am hehe, curse those phases for taking so long! grrr
