I am a Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler/Master Marksman on Tempest. However I decided to try out the CU and I quite liked it. I basicly took the same levels as I had on Tempest however I alsotook some Commando 3-0-0-0 this gave me quite a lot of more Melle Defence, also Novice Commando gave me lots of extra Range Accurasy/Speed/Defence modifiers.

Admitedlty I was not as "powerfull" as before in PvEagainst huge groups of Storm Troopers (This can only be good as you will no longer see one guy soloing waves and waves of Storm Troopers), however in PvP I was actually a lot more powerfull. I had gone into PvP once or twice before however as a Pistoleer and Smuggler I got my but handed to me by Melle characters, with the CU however I was kicking there butts! Stoping shot is amazing, use it and it freezes a melle character in there tracks, then you can move out of there range and just pick them off from a distance. I think we may be weaker Vs. other Ranged professions but against Melleshould will kick butt.

Considering that I hated PvP and sucked at it I think the CU is good because it now seems to been encourageing others like me who hated PvP before into participating in PvP. I think the CU evens out the playing field a lot so that every class will have a role in a fight and thus we should see more diverse groups in fights, this will hopefully mean the team with the best tactics and not the best character builds will win.

Also you can enterfights right away, no need to go get buffed or anything although I definatly think buffs would help.

I'm Combat Medic/Pistoleer/ 3-0-1-0 BH and i'm quite enjoying the CU testing

Healing for much more than nearly any other player in pvp and the pistoleer advantages have won me alot of pvp fights i wouldn't have won before.

Heh I have to say I likeaspects of it too, I'm a master pistoleer master doc, and I do find combat easier and more enjoyable for the most part, which is a good thing. The CU in essence is very good for combat profs, most of the associated gripes revolve around changes outside of combat. I think we've a long way to go before the CU is fixed (prepare for bugs in live) but we do have a promising start.
