Thread: Why Recon Armor?

I don't understand the logic of giving us Recon armor, can somebody shed some light on this?
I look at it like this: we are limited to 35m so we are closest to melee range, why give us the armor that has a penalty to kinetic? It would make more sense to give us battle armor.
I also noticed that the TK weapons are all energy, are melee professions being switched to energy in general? This is the only thing that would make it seem logical to give us Recon armor I guess.

it's more a matter of principle, recon armor is little and made for speed, so you give it to a class that's "fast"
, i don't think the melee are converting to energy damage, i thin kthe TKM things are just messed up.

I hate armor certifications, they should just put down penalties and let people choose which armor they are willing to use. I haven't noticed the mitigation (or lack there of) for pistoleers but I am a Smuggler too, so that is probably why. That kind of sucks if we are the only ones who don't get full mitigation.

we are suppose to have full mitigation...needs to be fixed.
As for why recon I believe its just for the speed thing..it will still be a very effective armor as long as you get the right layers and such...its all just a part of checks and balances battle and assault are not inherently better than recon...

I like the rebel armor. Also, the mabari armor is cool and tantel is cool. It's lightweight and that's what we should have since we're supposed to be constantly moving.

Last time I played on test, my encumberance was 0 on all of my armor. It seems it's fixed.

Can you tell me what box we got the +20 in? I was unable to get on last night (grrrr)

well when making our temp will armor be that big of a factor when makign a temp or should i go for skill mods and abilities?

Just logged onto TC briefly. 9.8% encumbrance penalty still applied when wearing advanced recon' armours. Unfortunately, my connection didn't last long enough to check the skill boxes to see if +20 movement mitigation has been added there.

All the rebel armor is cool looking. Well not the Recon helm, i will NEVER wear it. But there is the one suit that has the helm that looks like a top hat that is cool looking lol. I really think some of these guys are not trying CU before they complain.
