Thread: A Simple Solution to a Small Problem in the CU

I am a MBH/Mcarbs player that has noticed a simple problem with a simple solution in the CU that wouldn't require nerfing the ranges of either carbines or rifles.
Only pistoleers can use stopping shot.
Why? No more 65m roots that give no option for countermeasure from any other ranged profession but another rifleman. Only a short-ranged ranged combattant (pistoleer) will then have access to this somewhat overpowered special. I think this idea sure beats the '10-50m for carbines, 30-65m for rifles' BS I've heard people suggesting-- such suggestions are about the same as a suggestion to remove my carbines from the game... and would also severely limit rifles.
Support my simple solution, rooting only for pistoleers.

Not sure if you meant it this way but I'd change that to: Stopping Shot can only be used with a pistol.

Hey, that works for me. I was writing it in a hurry before a midterm. I thought stopping shot was a pistoleer special, so that is what came to mind at the time. Pistols only for stopping shot.

It makes sense, carbs have specials that can only be executed with "automatic weapons". I'd like to see some limited restrictions on some of the more "role-defining" abilities to keep them "in-class". Snipershot should only be usable with a weapon with a stock, The carb position control only an automatic, and stoppingshot, only a pistol.
Leaves some room for overlap ( automatic pistols, stocked carbines, etc) w/o totally blurring the lines between proffs. Of course it's too late for that now. We are pretty much stuck with this system, might as well get in there and work out the bugs. I doubt we'll be seeing major changes (like these)before this thing goes live.

Ahhh what about knee cap shot, cuncussion, and crippling shot. It doesn't stop a player dead but they might as well be standing still at the rate they move. the first is from smuggler, second rifles, and third from carbineer. don't forget lowblow to. thats a root too.
