I have decided to go full bore on pistoleer lately. I was at 2/0/3/2 a few days ago. So I needed to start grinding. something I hate doing. I headed to Lo, but no decent spawns, so i ended up on endor. I like endor, pretty planet. anyways, heres what i did...

Full doctor buffs. good doctor buffs to.my comp armor is 60% resist across the board. 85% electricity resists, but that doesnt matter. I also have been getting master dancer and musicians buffs. but those arent to to important, as Muon works well, but the downer keeps you out of the fhgting for 3 minutes. I also have a 240dmg scatter, as I have BH pistol line as well. that isnt to important, but the extra speed really helps spamming stopping shot. Eye shot also helps because it blinds, but again, not a neccesity. I also picked up a crate of the new synth steaks. they cut damage by 20% for either an hour, or 50 attacks. but can be eaten each time they wear off. they are wonderful. heres what i was hunting...

Robas

any gurreck i could find

lantern birds, shimmering lantern birds, gleaming lantern birds

robas are EVERWERE. lantern birds are found all over as well. robas give 2800 xp each. same with lantern birds. shimmering lanterns give 3100 xp or so.

I found that pistolwhip knocks robas down about 85% of the time. once on the ground it only takes about 3-4 stopping shots to kill them. I could easily stand in a group of 5-6 robas and take them one at a time, with almost no damage being taken. They also spawn quickly. they con white to me, but are no problem. one nest gives about 20k xp, and takes maybe 4-5 minutes to take down the robas+nest.

lanterns are a little more rare. but can still be found. Pistolwhip works about 70% of the time on these. once they are down, they take huge damage. 2 stopping shots and they are done. about 30k xp from a next. takes maybe 5 minutes to drop everything and the nest.

gurrecks are a little harder to find. but still spawn at a decent rate. crazed gurrecks go down about 40% of the time to pistolwhip. but even if they dont, they are fairly easy to take with stopping shot. theres a bunch of different types, so xp ranges anywere from 2500-4000 xp each.

I would also like to add that even with only +30 dodge, i was evading robas 1 out of 3 attacks. lanterns, maybe 1-5, and maybe 1-10 gurreck attacks.

no real tactics used. just pistolwhip to drop them, then stopping shot till they died, then on to the next one. I like to open with eye shot on lanterns, because they never seem to be able to hit anything when blinded. but you can get away without it.

i was on endor hunting for two hours. I gained a little over 500k pistol xp. my mind buffs wore off after an hour or so, so i had to go to moun, but it didnt slow me to much, I just had to pay attention to when it would wear off. without a mind buff of somekind, your specials and mob attacks will incap you fairly quickly. I know some people can grind xp faster, but thats still a good rate. maybe 6 hours to grind through one skill tree.

Well, there it is. pistolwhip works. you just have to find out what it still works great on. it helped me to very quickly plow through mob's and gain xp faster than i expected. hope this helps someone out there.

I also want to add, that none of those animals deathblow. one of the reasons I have been killing them recently.

Here's the problem with your tips. In general a novice pistoleer without the BH pistol line will not have the speed to spam stopping shot the way you can, as you have more speed than a master pistoleer. Although buffing with decent armor is a good tip, but fairly well known at this point.

those animals, except maybe for the gurrecks, dont hit very hard, they dont DB, and go down easily with pistolwhip. even with the slower speed of a novice pistoleer, tey can be easily beaten.

You shouldn't have much trouble taking down anything... hell I can take down a enraged rancor with buffs/armor and some skill. Plus you have more speed than me, and my crappy pistols. Your scatter beats down my Dx2 with damage slice and damge powerup. And I still take down rancors. Not to be bitter but I worked hard for my xp and my profession. You have it on easy street. Regardless, I'll still help you. On Dantooine, savage quenkers give excellent xp and they are missons. If you can, go to Dath and get a small group of maybe 4-5 (including a doc, you, and a CH with a big pet) and get some rancor missions. Good xp there. Your scatter can easily pwn the rancors.

I worked very hard for my XP. I was 1 box from master bounty hunter when i surrendered all but pistol and went for pistoleer. I know what it is to grind xp the hard way. I am just rtying to talk about a few more animals out there that are good for grinding. And then went into what tactics and preperations i went into before going out, thats all.
