I have been doing quenker missions on Dantooine using stopping shot, but now I use my fan shot to empty most of the lair, and they are dead in under 30 seconds.

Wow this goes so much fast.....my only problem is switching to a new target fast enough as they die.

If you are grinding pistoleer, this is the way to go.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of equipment/buffs are you using? I've also been fighting quenkers, but when I try using fanshot on them I just usually end up dead.

You bet, always do the Techniques line first. After that, you have the offensive power of Pistoleer without the speed. While gaining exp, make sure you toss a C12 grenade on every lair you take down to add a little combat experience in to the mix. If you do that, your last box of Stances won't keep you from mastering a long as it normally would.

Wait until you see the +dodge and +speed you can gain with the other lines! You are probably already enjoying the knockdown/dizzy defense-- let me tell you, appreciate it a lot. I am so spoiled, when I play my other character on a different server with no defensive modifiers, I take a beating from the same mobs.

If you eat 2 vagnerian canapes (I use BE enhanced canapes that give +700 focus and willpower) on top of the brandy, your mind bar will never show any black. I do that on top of doc buffs. Makes the savage quenker missions a piece of cake. I have also found that Geonosian Sonic Blasters chew through the quenkers pretty fast. They don't do squat to the lairs though, so you will want to switch to another pistol for the lair.

I just got fan shot. Is there any secret to using it well? Position? Techniques that you folks can share? Thanks.

I use full buffs froma master doc, and 2 brandi's. I also use full composite armor. The only time I got incapped was when I didnt notice the brandy wearing off, and also didnt notice my mind down.

I just find it annoying that its a cone AE but its not meant to be according to the description in game, and of course if your soloing a cone ae is pretty useless, maybe i'm using it wrong but it hardly ever hits more than one mob for me in point blank range, even if they are standing close together, the cone's initial ark must be very small.

Personally i prefer using point blank ae1 and do wild lairs on endor, get about 8 on you at once and just tear through them then finish them off with bodyshots, pretty simple and good exp, i got 500k yesterday in about 2 and a bit hours which for me isnt bad.

When I run quenker missions on Dant I just run up to them and spam fanshot while running backwards, keeping both quenkers in my AOE. It may look funny or like you're running for your life but it works. If my missions are close (~200m apart) I can clear both of them on one Muon (10 min). Make sure to group with a pet or droid for the added xp, or just group with someone on Dant and run separate missions in opposite directions and both of you can get the xp bonus and you wont have to worry about sharing the loot.

If I'm not mistaken, fan shot is a little buggy at the moment. You have to have already hit the mob in order for it to be susceptible to the cone. Usually I just bleed everything that would be in the cone and THEN start with the fanshot, works great on Tuskens because it contributes more to looting permissions than Body shot

As for normal single-target npc (with no large resists) tactics, I usually start off prone at about 63m with a rep blaster for the accuracy mod and bleed it, then as soon as the mob sees me I switch to DX2 for close range accuracy mod, run up and PMD 1 to knock it down which I follow immediately with stopping shot to take advantage of the KD damage mod while its down. Then its just run and gun with body shot 2 from there (i don't have master yet, been a pistoleer for months and now only 1 box away; if I was master the shot of choice would be SS with a fast gun). Rinse and repeat the KD as necessary.

Forcreatures I just let them come to me, then do the KD

no, the fanshot is buggy in that it'll cause targets it misses or didn't even target to agro you.... lot of help that does *sigh*i've also noticed it hardly ever damage any target other than my current target unless we were all in point-blank range

but it does have a x4 dmg and only x2 speed modifier... by far the most damaging shot in the game unless you can fire stopping shot or last ditch at the speed cap

on a side note, someone asked me to train them in... whatever the second try is, the dead-eye aim one

and i told him to get fanshot first since it's way faster...... he then proceeded to tell me i was dumb because it adds accuracy mods..... *rollseyes*

i then proceeded to disband and tell him to find out for himself

Good going Kevie. It's remarkablehow people can be so rude, especially since they want something from you. I'm afraid MMORPG's and "chat rooms" have made people very rude and disrespectful, especially the newer generations.
