I'm thinkin'go with pistols first, by the time you come around getting Novice smuggler again you'll have a bit of cash or somelocked containers needed to start you sliceing from looting NPCs

I would just get novice pistoleer, then get yourself a really good Republic Blaster

Since XP is based on the amount of damage you do, it will be so much quicker with the certification of a good weapon

If not , it will feel like its taking forever

Pistoleer first.....the xp will come so much quicker with fan shot

I am a Master AS, who is starting to go for smuggler (specials and slicing lines) and some Pistoleer. My question is...I have the requisite XP for either Novice Smuggler or Novice Pistoleer. Which should I get first? With smuggler, i could start on slicing while still doing pistol xp. But with pistoleer, I predict better combat, missions, and faster pistol XP? Which would you suggest.

I did master smuggler after I had master pistoleer and getting the XP to fill up Underworld and Dirty techniques took all of 2 sec's with the XP I could generate as a master pistoleer.... Spices and slices can be grinded more or less in about an hour each.... it's just a matter of having everything you need.

Pistoleer on the other hand took me forever, with combat xp in the stances branch being what held me up at the end....

I would suggest Pistoleer and start collecting containers for slicing...

I was in the same situation, but I got Novice Smuggler then Pistoleer. I wanted to start slicing. I didn't really have any problems getting Pistoleer after that. All getting Novice Smuggler firs does is set you back 50k XP, which isn't really that much, considering pistols IV costs more. I got pistoleer and now I'm going to get feign death (my chracter isn't pure combat and sort of weak, plus Im a chicken

) then straight up techniques so I can get fan shot.
