I want to do pistols as my main means of attack, but i want to be good in both PvP and PvE.

I am curious which one of these you fellers think is better.

1) Master Pistoleer

BH 0-0-4-0

Fencer 3-4-0-0

2) Master Pistoleer

BH 0-0-4-0

Novice Commando

Smuggler 0-0-4-0

3) Master Smuggler

Master TKA

Master Pistoleer

#2 is truly the best for PvP IMHO, but the fencer build does add a sweet bit of defense. #3 is what i'm going 4 cuz i'm a PvE guy and can add some sweet support in PvP, but i'm no toe-to-toe type of guy.

Oh and they are all fine for PvE. TKM is all I use in PvE, but Pistoleer can handle PvEjust as well if you have a good line of guns that covers the full spectrum of damage types.

I agree with Dracovious. #2 is best for pvp as long as you stay out of melee range and any of them will work fine for pve. If you want a better all around I'd take #3.

Ok, starting with number 1. We cap our dodge with master pistoleer plus one box of fencer, so you were right to take as much ranged and melee defence as you could pile on, defensively and offensively your first template has enough for PvE and PvP depending on what you want to fight. You should be competitive enough in PvP, only melee, CM and RM will cause you any problems, but that goes for everyone in the game, so no loss there. 155 accuracy, infinite speed cap and eyshot is the only move worth pulling PvP these days.

Number 2. Again, 155 accuracy, infinite speed cap but with a launcher pistol and last ditch. Well last ditch has a x6 multiplier but doesn't hit a specific pool unlike eyeshot, this gives you the option of taking advantage of a weaker pool, or hitting for DOUBLE the damage of eyeshot, which is painfull enough in my opinion. You could always use both and stack the blind and stun states to screw over your opponent's attack and defence. I have my doubts as to the working status of the vulnerability system in mobs, but the launcher pistol will at least allow you to hurt some NS you couldn't look at before. An effective all round template and also the one I'm aiming for, although I'm constantly changing my mind, I caught myself considering carbineer the other day. lol

Template 3, the triple master. Only 95 accuracy, not speed capped, last ditch unviable for PvP and without the extra speed, accuracy and moves from BH you'll probably find yourself as a TKM with the bonus of being able to draw a pistol in PvE. This template was the mainstream once because it can do everything you want it to, fight ranged, fight melee and if you can't be bothered one day you could always slice a factory run of armour for a smith and make a few credits for no work, or get a free suit of sliced composite or two, which isn't bad for half an hours slicing, it beats for money for time ratio on missions anyway.

The pistoleer community has been talking templates since the BH "revamp" when BH pistols became a more viable path to take to enhance pistoleer, the majority know that it is possible to have every single pistol and pistol special in the game in one template (except fastblast, but until it's fixed we don't really need it)

not to forget, template number 1 gives you
Defense Vs. Blind +40
Defense Vs. Dizzy +40
Defense Vs. Knockdown +100
Defense Vs. Posture Change (Down) +70
Defense Vs. Stun +40

I am going for commando 0040 master pistoler BH 0040 and some smuggler if I can. that way I'll have /flamecone2; /flamesingle2; /flamecone1; /flamesingle1; then pull out my Geo and hit health. with eyeshot as a backup. that wayI can deal 300-500 health wounds before IDB whoeverI'm fighting and still take down their health in a matter of secounds. or if they're a Doctor and just cure my fires I'll mind hit them with lowblow as a KD if they try to run. I think that cover's it... anyway thats what I'm doing. closest to number 2 I think.

really? I guess I'll have to rethink that. I guess I'll leave out smuggler so I can keep the flames...

master marksman 77 sp
exploration IV 29 sp
unarmed IV 29 sp
flamer IV 20 sp
master pistol 63 sp
BH pisrol IV 20 sp
thats 238 sp, you need 18 to get lowblow, and you have only 12 left

I'm template number three IT ROCKS

But I'd love to drop all smuggler but the DF line to pick up some fencer or rifleman (for defenses AND surprise lol)

I'm pretty sure I can beat the crap out of template one and two....three (or anything based on TKM/Master Pistoleer) is much more balanced

So my proposal to you: TKM, Master Pistoleer, smuggler 0040, fencer 3400 or in stead of fencer ->rifleman 0430 (but that would be silly lol)

Comments on the templates:

1+2 get caught in melee range and you're dead

2: face an opponent with good gear and forget about getting in any damage to speak of (no brawler=no intimidate)

weak melee defenses (bad for PVE too btw)

(picking up novice commando for the launcher pistol is a waste of skillpoints)

3: as I said best all round, very powerfull template (you only need to fear CM's), with fencer 3400 you'll be a monster (if you play right)
