well, this has veen the template i've decided to go with

Master Pistoleer

Teras Kasi 4/0/0/0

This gives some great firepower with average defences and the meditation to cure any disease/poisen/bleeds

only downside is low melee (+54) and even lower ranged (+22) defence.

I thought about replacing the TK with dirty fighting from smuggler for ranged knock-down and last ditch (Last ditch with a good geo pistol :smileyhappy, but that template is going to die to anyone with a DOT weapon or a combat medic.

any input is greatly appreciated

or could even add the defences from Fencer, but then still can't heal poisen/disease
