hi all i am a bh
3/0/4/0
master pistoleer
i am still not scure wich to choose between medit 4 and dirty fight 4
as i ve understood only way to knockdown (imperative to kill jedis i ve heard) is getting low blow
but is it really that good? it doesn t dizzy an it has a 30 sec non spam timer..
this mean i can kd tem but they ll get up in no time..
also feign death is nice (they can t kill you)
medit 4 does not give me a direct help to pistol skills but i get the focus buff wich many says its great as well with usefull abilities (healing wounds and such.. wich aren t imperative in pvp but aways usefull) and the will ability wich let s you raise from uncapp first..
what s your opinion? should i go with medit 4 or to dirty fight 4?
i was thinking about going fencer too but i don t need 180 dodge when the cap is 125
with the above 2 specs i get 105 wich can be improved with seas i think...
(don t know)

You've hit on exactly why low blow is probably the most over-hyped pistol attack. People keep saying it's great because it knocks people down. Sure, they're knocked down for a second. Maybe if you're kiting someone you can get a bit farther away from them, but that's about it. Of course, you can combine panic shot and low blow but panic shot only lasts for 10 seconds. As a TKM I know that KD without dizzy is useless.
Also, while FD will keep you from being killed outright in PvP if it succeeds, it has some serious drawbacks. First off, it waits until you are hit to function, which means you are hurt in that blow. If it fails, that means your enemy just got a free hit on you and you got nothing out of it. Also, if that free hit does enough damage for a real incap, you aren't in FD you're now incapped and they can deathblow you.
The other drawback with FD is that even though they can't DB you, they can still attack you, turning your HAM bars black as you lie helpless on the ground.
As to meditation, you get some really cool stuff. First, you can reduce the effects of poison and disease, and even cause them to go away faster (sometimes only after a tick), even in PvP it can help if you're not in direct combat for a moment.
Secondly, your powerboost is a free buff to every pool (not secondaries) and you can use it over and over again without penalties (there's no downer or anything to it). The only drawback to powerboost is a one minute delay when you initiate it and another when it wears off after 7 minutes.
Third, force of will can save your life, let's say your HAM is 2000/2000/2000 and someone uses mind attacks and incaps you at 1800/1800/0. You use FoW successfully and get back up with 1200/1200/1200 (it evens out your remaining pools) instead of waiting for the death blow. There's a 60 minute timer between uses. Now sometimes bad things can happen, including wounds, but if it fails completely then you don't get affected by the 60 second timer.
The last and probably best part about meditate is wound healing. Your wounds heal FAST. Every single stat. Just sit and meditate, and they melt away. I have never walked into a med center or cantina for wound healing since getting meditate 4. There's no need anymore. Now, you still need to heal battle fatigue but that's it.
Make up your own mind about which is better, but as someone who had dirty fighting and gave it up I'll tell you that it's not as cool as it looks.

I'll repeat it again....ranged prof vs. jedi = certain death...lol
I've tried to low blow jedi the last three or four days....I fired maybe 50 LB, only landed ONE, the first one roflmao
Even when KD it's very hard to hit a jedi with pistols...(believe me I tried...and stopped reeeeeal fast)

Another thing I forgot, the biggest reason KD is so great in melee is because the melee attacker gets massive damage bonuses while you lie on the ground. The fact that you can't do anything while lying there is almost secondary.
Knocking people down with a pistol almost seems like a waste.
