I felt like I needed to "revamp" volume 1 a little

The idea of Dual Wield has been in discussion for quite sometime, and I believe I have a very good idea on how to implement.

I do not believe that it should be a one-time “cert” at master pistoleer, but a progression through marksman/pistoleer/BH.

it into the game.

Novice Marksman- No Mods

Pistols 1- No Mods

Pistols 2- No Mods

Pistols 3- Cert CDEF Dual Wield, Dual Wield +5

Pistols 4- Cert D-18 Dual Wield, Dual Wield +5

Master Marksman- Dual Wield +5

Novice Pistoleer- Cert DL-44 metal, Cert DL-44, Dual Wield +10

Pistol Grips 1- Cert DH-17, Cert Scout Blaster, Dual Wield +10

Pistol Grips 2- Cert Power 5, Cert Striker, Dual Wield +10

Pistol Grips 3- Cert FWG-5, Cert SR-Combat, Cert Tangle, Dual Wield +15

Pistol Grips 4- Cert DX-2, Cert Republic, Dual Wield +15

Master Pistoleer- Cert Geo Sonic, Dual Wield +25

Master Bounty Hunter- Cert Scatter Pistol Dual Wield

This way a Master BH gets the reward of the Dual Wield Scatter Cert.

Now They cannot wield these weapons without penalty like a good pistoleer can.

Enter the Dual Wield Mod chart!!

Below is a list of all the pistols with a (-#) near them. This negative number is a penalty for that specific gun. This is where the Dual Wield +’s come into play.

Example: A master Bounty Hunter gets the cert to Dual Wield a scatter pistol which is a (-75). This means they need a +75 Dual Wield mod to dual wield this gun without penalty. But at master BH, they only get +15 Dual Wield. So they need to get Pistol grips 4 to get a total of +75 Dual wield.

CDEF (-5)

D-18 (-10)

DL-44 metal (-15)

DL-44 (-20)

DH-17 (-25)

Scout (-30)

Power 5 (-35)

Striker (-40)

FWG-5 (-45)

SR-Combat (-50)

Tangle (-55)

DX-2 (-60)

Republic (-65)

Scatter (-75)

Geo Sonic (-95)

DE-10 (-100)

Some weapons like the DE-10, GEO, and even the Scatter can even have a small quest to obtain the dual wielding cert, to add a little content.

I also like my idea on how the Scatter pistol should be dual wielded, soo the Master Bounty Hunter gets a little reward at master (scatter dual wielding cert) but can only use it without penalty if he gets a couple skills in the pistoleer tree.

Now to dual wield two different guns, you can simply take half of the –mod and add the two new numbers of the two guns you wish to wield together...Say you are a master BH/Master pistoleer and wish to have 1 DE-10 and 1 scatter...The DE-10 is a -50 + the scatters -38 is -88...so you must have a dual wield mod equal to or better than -88 to wield those two guns without penalty.

Now I would believe that this would come into game post-combat balance. So I am thinking ahead in trying to find a nice balance of speed/power/accuracy. It can even be as simple as firing 1 gun at a time 1 after another.. Like shot 1 would be DE-10 in right hand, shot 2 would be Scatter in left, shot 3 would be DE-10 again etc...They would fire according to their weapon speed/speed mod that is currently into game, so nothing new would be needed. Same with damage.

But I believe something more unique than that is needed to have this dual wield be useful. This is the tough part. I believe that we should be faster and have better speed (once again, after combat rebalance, we might not shoot at 1 second all the time), but less accuracy to balance our more damage that we can do. It is balanced lower in the marksman tree, because with such low accuracy, I would not want to dual wield a CDEF to have a lower level gun shoot faster, but less accurate. But one you hit master it will be strong, imagine two DE-10's? But then I do not think much penalty should occur. I believe someone who masters a profession should dominate a dabbler with that weapon, unless our dabbler has great strategy and our master is moronic. Every profession should have something that is given at master that makes it that much more appealing to master instead of taking one or two branches. So once every profession can come up with their own "unique" ability, our dual wielding can be high speed, a little less accurate, more damage, but balanced..
