Hey I quit playing quite a while ago, and haven't checked in for quite a while
I was curious if they ever "fixed" our profession? I left around the time they nerfed PVP damage, then added in the ugodly heavy weapons for bounty hunters & commandos.

Nope. Our bleed is still our highest damage, more than half of our skill tree contains to useful specials, PMD1 is still better than PMD2.
Check back in three months. They should've at least given us some news on the combat revamp by then.

Nope
The devs just seem to give the finger to pistoleer and say "LETS ADD ALL THIS SH I T TO RIFLEMAN" Are attacks still dot work and we are nothing in PvP or PvE without bounty hunter or smuggler

Awh, this would've made such a good punchline if you hadn't had BH.

What shocks me is that TKN (that's frickin' NOVICE-- I'm 0-0-0-2 right now, 1-0-0-3 probably later today) that I picked up recently is nearly faster and more conisistant in killing stuff. You gotta be right up close, but big deal. Spin Attack 1 fries ish.
Why is this? Why is a non-movie profession that alot of peoplenever heard of until this game ONE OF THE BEST COMBAT PROFESSIONS? I think I first heard of Teras Kasi when the console fighter game came out, what like 6 or 7 years ago? Otherwise I had never heard of it. It's bullcrap what these guys can do, yet the actual people who want to be in an environment that feels at ALL like Star Wars get the backseat. I don't think we should be the BEST profession, but we should at LEAST be WORKING!!! 2 or 3 decent specials is ALL WE HAVE. Arg.

Too busy working on new emotes to fix any Pistoleer specials.
I'm sure most Master Pistoleers have an emote for them. Not involving the thumb.

If you mean "fixed" as in repairing broken specials in existing professions then no.
If you mean "fixed" as in focusing all attention on only one profession and ignoring all the others (cough*jedi*cough) then yes.
It's all in how you look at it. hehe

/sigh the doom and gloom crowd is in full effect I see.
Yes we have problems. Yes they are being addressed. Yes it will take time. Im sorry to say that returning now probably wouldnt be in your best interest if you were wondering if it was all fixed now...its not...I have raised the issues again with the devs and the sandbox is coming soon. Unfortunately we have to get this expansion integrated into the game in the coming week or so and that is taking alot of their attention. But signs of the combat revamp are beginning to perk up.

Yes, the doom and gloomers are in but with a right!! Man, I've been doing pistoleer since February 2004 and I'm recently beginning to think of changing it! I don't want to, but in pvp I'm really being owned! Anyone with half-decent armour (like base 80-90%) and a decent buff and I'm screwed. Ok, my weaponary is being improved on at the moment, but the cost of any semi-decent pistol in my server is stupidly high.
Ah well, I can live and hope that the combat revamp comes before my exams next march!

The answer really depends IMO on whether you are refering to Pistoleer as a pure template orif you mean "pistols" as a combat class.
1. MP hasn't really changed in any meaningful way since beta. OR
2. With the reduction in SP cost for BH you can now have an effective Pistols onlytemplate.
check the rest of this board for details of the pistoleer/fencer, pilstoleer/bh/smugg, or the MP/TKM/MS templates - all of which have some advantages/disadvantages NONE of which are "pure"
