Question: do you think that they would let us dual wield two different pistols or do you think theyd make ya stick to the same one

i think that if it were two different ones it would be kinda cheap and i can see all over the forums "nerf pistols its too strong now!!"

youd be able to get two different damage types in so i can see alot of complaining from this.

Two Gamorrean guards are walking down a narrow, deserted canyon when suddenly a Krayt Dragon comes out and starts chasing them. One of the Gamorreans stops to put on his best running shoes. "Don't waste time," shouts the other one, "you can't outrun a Krayt Dragon with those!" "I don't have to outrun the Krayt Dragon," says the first one as he finishes lacing his shoes, "I just have to outrun you!"

I'm guessing this will be another vote that follows up the current one. LordMaxx said that it was the first of several. Personally, I vote for the same pistols.

Just a minor question:

Which combined damage type would cause that havoc?

Pistols do energy, acid, heat, stun and blast

Any combination that makes it unbalanced?

And if your target has a weakness wouldnt you switch to that damage type with both pistols? (What most likely will be stun)

Let's try to keep all the discussion on dual wielding in the same thread (the one LordMaxx started).

However, there is no advantage in using two different damage types at once! Look at it this way...you're attacking an NPC with 5% resists to Heat & vulnerability to Acid. If you use a FWG & a Scatter you're loosing 5% of the damage you could be doing if you had just equipped two Scatters. If the NPC had no resists to Acid & Heat, then you won't gain anything by mixing damage types.

I strongly disagree here. If you are pvp'ing and have no idea what kind of armor your enemy is wearing, dual wielding a geo and a scatter will allow you to take advantage of this uncertainty.

If your enemy has no stun armor you will damage them with the geo. If they are using stun armor, the scatter will be dishing out the majority of the damage. Either way, your weapon setup is useful in either situation.

Everytime I pvp right now it's like playing the lottery; will i hurt them with my geo or not? Equiping a geo and a scatter at the same time would be an excellent way to accommodate for this uncertainty.

True, but that's also thinking about this in terms of what armor is like today. Remember thatarmor will change significantly with the combat revamp and dual wielding won't come until after the revamp. Plus, I think it would be more difficult to tell what type of armor your opponent has by mixing weapons. If you have two geos equipped you'll be able to tell quickly if they have high stun resists. If you have two different damage types equipped, yes you're more likely that one of those is hitting the opponents weakness, but you're wasting 50% of your attacks. You'd be better off using dual geos, finding that they have high stun resists, then switch to dual scatters.

Also, I just don't know if the system would be able to handle two different damage types.

The question is already answered young grasshopper! You have to think how SOE thinks when it comes to improvements in game, cookie cutter. The way publishes have been going since launch I can't see them taking the extra steps to allow us to mix and match pistols. More than likely they are going to come up with something lame like adding new schematics for our old weapons that let weaponsmiths make matched sets.
