I'm currently M.Pistoleer/Rogue/Desperado/Novice Commando
Why does this template need Novice Commando to function better? When I could use the skill points for something else?

Launcher pistol cert. Launcher pistols are blast damage which are totally awesome for Nightsisters and turrets. You could go up Investigation 3 to fight jedi , but I don't see any point in trying to ranged fight a jedi.

Not only the Launcher Pistol cert but the fact that you can't do a whole lot else without giving up Last Ditch or Torso Shot. Just grab Novice TKA and you're done (plus you get Meditate).

Novice Tk meditate is just like sitting down, not worth it really

Launcher pistols are NOT totally awesome for nightsisters.
Launcher pistols have ap0, nightsister elders have ap3. They wont scratch them, especially compared to their other weakness, energy. A republic and DE-10 will always be a better option. Even when using those, you better have feign death and over a hour to kill because an elder will not die to a AP1 weapon with any kind of speed.
Launcher pistols are however, very nice on turrets, which are vulnrable to blast damage, making the AP0 no big deal.

the LP is fine for any NS other than a protector or elder. Unless they have a stun baton...but then again that just sucks anyway. Spell Weavers are dispatched relatively easily, although I'd always suggest hunting NS with a partner to tank who doesn't mind being surrounded by smoke and blasts. You can help kill protectors, but you won't do much against an elder, other than using your fire dot and bleeds.

lets face it pistols are not soloing the super high end content. Pistols can handle most things, but theres maybe 4 or 5 that are gonna be hard. Well if you have the pateince you could healthshot2, toso shot, feign death the thing, could take a few hours though.

what about krayts. never tried one using pistols. wat kind of tatics should be used when going up against one of those

^RUN, run , and run even faster. Or get a swordsman to tank and kill it for you.

Juvies can be killed with pistols, everything else you better have feign death. It honestly isn't worth it anymore, AP3 mobs aren't meant to be killed by pistols. The AP2 Juvies you can solo, but a group or wasting time is needed to get the bigger ones.

I had this template and I can tell you, it's a blast fighting Rancors with the LP, and some Nightsisters as well (hell I use a pathetic striker pistol too)- but the big plus is when you go to the geo cave to grind for your FS XP, you can litterly outdamage many players with a high damage sliced+puped spiderfang LP on the crazed geos (blast vuln) using lastditch and fanshot. Lastditch did 3500-3800 dmg with my spiderfang LP at speedcap and I was outdamaging 2 TKMs and a fencer. And you get the C22 cert at novice commando.

Not to get off the subject too far but I'm considering doing the smuggler line for last ditch etc.
I'm master pistoleer as well.. Anyone know the damage difference between Stopping Shot and last ditch or the other smuggler shots?
Any pro's and con's?
