You're supposed to pull out an Advanced Laser rifle in those situations... not ideal but it's what we're stuck with.

and since you will probably not be doing a whole lot of damage.... simply apply states to lower their damage output until you are ready to apply a root of your own and run up and shove your FWG5 down his throat!

unless you dont have healing, in which you might as well store your clone data
on my rifleman alt, people just drop dead in 2 shots... kinda sad :X

put a speed PUP on a rifle sliced for speed (pre-CU sliced,or wait for new slicing in pub 19)and spam disarming shot, maybe that will help. Maybe you can fire fast enough to keep the rifleman from firing while you're rooted. Then root the rifleman and close the gap.

Nifty got it... before they get out of the 32 meter range, hit them with a Disarm shot, and dont have a default attack set. That should give you 5 seconds, after that, just get ready to use your stim Ds. Sadly the CU did not Balance Ranged Professions as was planed... a rifleman can still fire close to pistols speed with twice the range and much higher damage.

Which is an issue.
FYI, I do have an Adv. Laser, pretty good too... 1140, and I use a speedpowerup, btu lemme ask you, who will win, a Rifleman using his best rifle, or a Pistoleer using a Medium Rifle??

Also... that's how melee guys feel against pistoleers.
Rifles > Carbs > Pistols > melee. All can use a laser rifle, but at least carbs and pistols can use specials with the laser rifle. A full melee guy wouldn't be able to use their specials.
Try spamming disarm shot. It might work. It might not. Even if it just hits a couple of times, that's a few less shots you'll have to deal with.

I can think of a better place to shove it and in those cases I pull out the DE-10 as it is longer (last good use of a DE-10)...
