Thread: Can a solo pistoleer pull anymore/Solo techniques?

It used to be whenever I was fighting sans buffs against beasties I knew were higher level than myself I would use theDoT pulling technique to bring one at a time. ie:

- Go prone (and when I got the skill I would also take cover)

- Fire healthshot1, healthshot2 or torsoshot at the beast

- Peace

- Back up from other beasties

Now I had about a 90% success rate with this method, and I am wondering if this is at all possible anymore? I figured to try kiting with Fanshot/Burstrun, but usually this just ends up with everything in retreat nowadays. Unfortunately I often find myself sans guildies when I am playing, and would like to work on my MBH skills on my own obviously trying to use pistoleer moves that I understand with my now seemingly "uber" laser rifle.

Pull with a pet.

Tell it to attack, the immediatly tell it to follow. The thing you told it to attack will coming running towards you(works from very far away). When it is seperated a good distance from the rest of its mob, root it and go to town

I am 4000 CM and can solo pull 99% of the time...

Run toward the mob you want to pull...get to about 33m then turn and run away when you JUST hit 35m toss the poison...you will make it a few more meters away before the animation hits...the poison will hit the mob and it will be the only one that agros. keep running away till you are far enough away to not agro the other mobs when the animal does hit you.

This works for non ranged animals...I assume if it is a ranged type mob it would cause agro because it would shoot at you in agro range of the other mobs.

Get a ranged combat droid and use:

/tellpet attack;
/tellpet stay

From over 100m away, they come walking over to your droid and you can pumell them one by one.

Woo hoo! Finally a use for good ol' R3 again! Hopefully by the time I return the bugs will be worked out with the combat droids so I don't end up with a pile of junk metal.

Get a blackhand annihilator( i think thats the name, cant check right now ) its a mid 30's cl pistol with 60m range. Get to max range, fire off one shot and start running away from the mobs, you should only pull 1 of em with practice. Or get a laser rifle and do the same thing if youre lvl 54+

i believe they turned our r3 attack units into melee... the only ranged droid is the probot... i think

just depends on the mob, some pull easy, others you always end up getting a few at a time at best

It would still work, any pet can single pull really.

Yeah, it doesn't need to be ranged attack. Just tell him to attack and then immediately follow. The pet will stay by your side while the mob rushes over to attack it. Just make sure you shoot the mob before it kils your pet

I usually get to 35m, do a ranged shot and run - more often than not I'll pull just the mob I hit. Sometimes I'll get 2 but that's not so bad for even CL mobs.
