If im going to do one branch in pistols, to back up my Paddy weakness, which row is best. Im looking for the hardest hitting special. Stopping shot is not an issue as I have Force supression.

4/x/x/x gets you Improved Body Shot, which is the most damaging special in the Pistol tree. You also get Advanced Firearm Stirke, the 5m KD and Warning Shot, the -80 defence debuff.
