Save the gun in your house. I am pretty sure it is a bug. When the smuggler revamp comes if it is a bug, you should be able to fix the problem easily.

HI all,
I bought this great FWG5 on the forums.i saved all my money for it and finally had enough to spend 2.6mill to buy it.
The statts are i'm not sure but something with 950 maxx damage,+15 acc,SAC of only 75 and 2.06 speed.I can look up the actual statts later but that's not the point i am trying to make.what i just said was unpupped unsliced.So i think (unaware of the slicing problems) i let my gun slice by a master Smugler with a lot of experience.and gues what i got A NEGATIVE SLICE.the smuglers says damn m8 the first time this happned and a friend tells me it's a bug . So have been stroling by the forums these yester day and heard everybody says that slicing is bugged.Should i report this?Is it really a bug?is there anyway to get my gun unsliced or get a better slice on it?

Ouch, yeah he may not have been a forum regular, most of us know slicing is borked. Unfortunately there is no way to 'unslice' something. You're kind of stuck with it. Maybe hold out hope that if by some retarded twist of amazing dev wacky logic (you know, the kind that makes sense? But, its kind of like the spoon in the Matrix.), they decide to wipe all slices since the CU out, we'll be able to reslice all the stuff that was turned in to crap by this. But, if you hold your breath...?
....you'll probably turn pretty colors and croak...and still have an expensive gun, with a POS slice.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do with the gun to "fix" it after what happened. Slicing is currently borked and won't work properly until the Slicing part of the revamp-that-might-never-be-but-at-least-the-Slicing-part-will-happen-soon.

I found out about the slicing bug when i sliced my proton carbine and to be honest im not pleased one bit at this because i have the chance to get this weapon only once unless im going to spend a fortune getting it replaced.
Im hoping all previously sliced weapons will have something done to them so we are able to get their stats what they were and allow us to reslice them.

i havent been a smuggler very long but ive sliced a lot of weapons and before when i was having my weapons sliced by friends, you can tell if a gun has such a high dmg... there is no way in he11 you are gonna get a good dmg slice on it, its just how it happens, i too got a negative slice on my Featherweight FWG5 and mine was awesome, still is, but also bro, that weapon... for 2.6mill that seems a lil pricey not sure what server u play on and how ur economy is but it really sounds like a lot of money for a weapon that isnt THAT exceptional (unless the stuff i have is just that damn good)

FWG's have a max damage cap of 966, so with the slice you went over that and it brought it back to the max for a net slice change of negative %. Check the stats, they probably didn't get worse but if they did then that truly sucks.

The slicing numbers seem to lie more than a jawa in heat. Nearly every negative slice I've gotten has still raised the base dps.

Damage most likely did NOT go down even though neg slice was reported. We have seen lots of reports on the WS forums, and usually the dmg goes up slightly even though it says negative. This happens when weapons are close to or at the cap.
