Thread: What should our role in combat be?
As the title implies I'm starting this thread to see what others feel our role in combat should be. Where should we fit in with other ranged classes? With melee? What should our strengths and weaknesses be? What should be unique to our class?
Personaly I feel that we should excell at close range combat (0-15m), be fairly good at medium range combat (15-40m), and be at a disadvantage the further out from there we go.
Our weapons should be light, accurate at closer ranges, and fast. Their HAM costs should be lower compaired to other ranged classes, but we should also lack weapons with high or even medium Armor Periecing.
I Like most of our specials, but I feel some need to be changed in nature and a few of them need fixed. Point blank shot 2, for example shouldn't give a bonus to hit at close ranges (afterall, most pistols give you a positive modifier the closer your opponent is to you anyways), but rather, a bonus to damage.
Disarming Shot 1 should actualy have a chance to disarm an oppenent for a short ammount of time (5-10 seconds) Disarming Shot 2 should be a cone effect of Disarming shot 1 with a slightly longer duration (13-15 seconds).
Multi-Target Pistol Shot, in my opinion, should be replaced with a different attack seeing how Fanshot and Point Blank Area shot 1 and 2 already hit multiple opponents.
Pistol Melee Defense 2 should be a direct upgrade from Pistol Melee Defense 1 that includes not only a knockdown, but a chance to dizzy or stun as well.
Um, I think I've run out of ideas here.
All in all, I'd like to see us as true "Trickshots". Like the guys in old western movies. Our guns should befor the most partfast with low HAM costs. On the flipside our weapons should be ineffective at long distances (40 and up meters) and only decent at mid ranges (30-40 meters)and face problems with most armored targets. However in close range battles against unarmored troops with fancy weapons, we should shine
But when it comes to those long ranged open field battles, we should be like kids caught with their hands in a cookie jar and given the spanking we deserve.
Anyways, those are just my ideas, and I guess they're really not all that conclusive. Just a few things off the top of my head. What do you think?
Hi there, here's just a thought..
Hight damage, high speed , high accuracy at close range.. as pistols are ment to be used at close range.
lower speed and lower damage, lower accuracythe further away from you target you get.
