Skill?

Just became pistoleer the other day and at last gotten enough XP to buy my first skill but what shoul it be?

personal preference, i think i first went up marksmanship 2 or 3 boxes to make my dx2 more effective, then got up to fanshot cant remember the name of the tree. stances for speed can be handy, grips gives you dodge which is quite good as well.

Armour?

Should I get some armour and if I should what should I get?

if i dont have buffs i usually wear composite helmet, chest, gloves and boots, no pants because too much encumberance on your action. if i have buffs (which is a lot of the time) i will usually wear a full set. it may aid you in some situations (especially PvE) to have a good suit of ubese armor with 65+ kinetic resist. the ham encumberance is much lower than an 80% kinetic composite set, sometimes the comp can be expensive too.

Sockets?

I can see that some cloth and some armoure have some thing called sockets, what are these used for? (yeah I know its not a pistoleer question, but I hoped that I dident have to post on that that many boards).

you can insert attatchments into these, have a look around (try the akuan champion cave on talus, its a POI. kill the guys inside and loot them) for any pistol bonus attatchments. its my understanding that you can only have one effective attatchment per clothing or armor item, even though it may have more sockets. could be wrong there

Where to go?

I am on Tatooine and have only left Tat. for the act. 2 mission, is there any places good to go, I have found a Beetle cave that dose give me around 30-40K pr run, but a run on it (and to it) takes about 25-30 mins and would like to see some thing else on Tat. is there any places good here, or should I go to a different place?

i got most of my xp by fanshotting torturs on talus, they are weak as sh1t and give 3-4k xp. having a pet to tank obviously will help, also grouping with others will make life a lot easier if you are low level.

HAM?

I have a problem finding out what the best ay to balance my HAM out, and good advise?

personally i have 900/900/900 for the main stats, everything else is minimum besides quickness on 600, and wilpower on 500. im human so stat variations will differ for different species. quickness is a good stat to have because it reduces the amount of action each special will eat. you could lower your health and mind to increase action stats if you find you are using to much action, but with good food around i find its not really worth it, although this can get expensive. check out breath of heaven and rhyscate, both of these foods will buff your strength/quickness/focus making your specials cost next to nothing for the duration. i try and be buffed whenever possible, just makes life that much easier.

Weapon?

I have atm. a FWG5 Pistol, it has a speed of 1.3 and dam. 49-190. I dont know if this is any good, or if I should be looking for some pistol better. I belive that I have had a speed slice but I am not sure.

speed can be handy at low level but once you are master you will want all damage sliced guns. try and carry decent dx2/republic/fwg (acid/energy/heat).. this will allow you to switch guns for different situations and creature resist. i think it is striker that does kinetic, also tangle pistol will do stun, but generally these guns are weak and not usually worth it.
