Im interested in what you have to say about techniques/complications/ and comparisons as in advantages or disadvantages in pvp for gunfighters against other classes. Guildmates have told me that Im having trouble in pvp because my pistols are light armor piercing and is why it seems I rarely hit them. I have considered a tangle pistol as most seem to be wearing comp now. But why is it Master Gunfighters are sticking with your profession. Im looking for an arguement here as to why I should stick with Gunfighter instead of going to Sharpshooter which seems to be leading most pvp now. Any advice will do. I currently use Rep. Blasters or DX2s in Pvp (or krayt scouts) depending on opponent and armor.

Two points I have to make here, not directly answering your question but trying to point something out. I don't believe armor piercing has ANYTHING to do with accuracy. The main reason you don't hit them is they probably have a nice stack of defense mods going (which will soon be nerfed.)

Another point I must make is that the reason Sharpshooters are so popular right now is because, well, frankly at the moment they are uber. Who knows, it may get nerfed sometime, it may not.

rifleman are popular right now for pvp because they have 150-170 accuracy, insane d bonuses, and a rifle that can cut through even the best Composite all for 92 skill points. WIth the extra skill points they can improve their d to astronomical heights and become unhittable(unless of course your a rifleman as well).

My only problem with the whole thing is as a pistoleer lets say i master gunfighter AND use the rest of my skill points to go up the pistol BH line...my accuracy would still be a tad less than a rifleman, yet it costs me 237 skill points....its balanced really.

take up dirty fighting or expert bh

going up the unarmed tree leaves you with a few options - you can get commando, tk, and smuggler.

nice defense trees from tk if you want to get it, novice commando you can use a launcher, and dirty fighting from smuggler

experiment and play with your template until you are happy.. master gunfighter on its own isn't too good unfortunately.

bonuses of expert bh is max pistol speed at stances 3 - you can fire any special with any gun at the speed cap. the infamous eye shot targeting mind, and torso shot targeting health and gives a small flame dot.

There isNO reason to stick with Pistoleer, as I discovered last night (P.S. I am a Master Pistoleer, with all of the smuggler pistol skills). I ran into someone that I shot at 25 times and actually hit TWICE. Yes, I said TWICE out of 25 shots (I counted). I have been a pistoleer since the beginning of the game, and I hate to give up on it, but I am. Its pathetic. For one, all of our good attacks effect random HAM, andnone of our weapons are effective against composite armor (which, like you said, EVERYONE is wearing now days). Im more into PvP than anything else, and pistoleer USED to be a decent profession for this; but now........ it f#%^ing sucks. So sianara pistoleer, hello rifleman.

You may want to wait until the big comabt nerf ...I mean patch. Did I say nerf? I must still be dizzy from the CH "patch". I hear Riflemen and TKAare going to get ding'd pretty bad.

Yeah, I'm sticking with Pistoleer to see if we get any love from the Devs after the big patch. Who knows, maybe they'll make us UB3R for a little while. That'd be fun. I'm defintely not going the route of Rifleman because their power is just asking for a nerf. I'm actually planning on going the route of Master Pistoleer, Novice Commando (Launcher), Smuggler Dirty Fighting and maybe some TKA. IMHO I don't think the Scatter is worth wasting all those skill points when I can use them in a great variety of professions.

Ya, I've been having a little trouble in PvP lately; generally master riflemen & master carabineers get me pretty easily. I really mix it up with my master cm skills because my bombs don't miss (for the most part) and ignore any defense mods.

I do the following (against single opponent):

mind poison, run around like an idiot hoping I don't get a kd of some sort, when mind reaches +1, spam doubletap.

If multiple people, I just use area mind poison and fanshot.

apparently my pistoleer skills are just a supplement to my cm stuff.

Pistoleer is pretty weak against buffed carbineers or riflemen.

You must be very creative to beat some of them.

im sticking with pistoleer for a couple reasons. first of all, the combat patch is comming soon and everyone should wait to see what that does for us. secondly, how fun is it to join a bandwagon of tkm's and riflemen. half the pple i see are one of those 2. its much more exciting to be the underdog and still when. then ur name really gets around, plus i know as soon as i give up this proffesion it will be the uber one and that would be gay.

somebody mentioned defense mods getting nerfed...could this be clarified please. I thought a great advantage to a pistoleer would be going up Rogue, also Fencer Grips, and Percision tree in TK, as far as skill pts would take me anyway. Someone also mentioned it being worthless going up fencer....why is this?
Today I managed to take down a carbineer and a commando (not sure if master or not) I have a fire resist +10 on my armor maybe that helped but he couldnt seem to hit me as i had on burst run and was circling him and pistol whipping + Stopping Shot with a Republic Blaster (unsliced), he went down incap, was healed fully, and i took him down again. The carbineer wasn't using a laser carbine and he didnt do too much damage thru my 70% comp suit. I spammed a macro like this: /healthshot1; /PMD1; /healthshot2; /stoppingshop; /stoppingshot; /stoppingshot...and when about 50 Imperials showed up to assist him I started using Fan shot to knock them all.
