put a good powerup on that and it will be one of the best pistols(non-krayted) that you will get...

im kinda a noob to ranged weapons... but this is my best guess.

I got novice pistoleer last night on my alt. I have 2 pistols I use. my DX2 which is about 130-210 damage and about 2.1 speed I think. and my 70-200 2.2 speed FWG5.

It really depends on what you can find, moded replubic blasters can be really nice, good FWG5's are easy to find. and im seeing some nice DX2's now, however they are kinda rare...

For general PvE, at novice pistoleer your best bet is a good FWG5. And hopefully you get it speed sliced. Why you ask when you are now cert for the DX2? Because the DX2 is slower, and doesn't do much more damage, and infact, few WS can get it higher then the FWG5. The FWG5 is pretty fast, and until you work up the stances? (right row of pistoleer) your speed is still pretty slow. So you want a fast blaster.

Now this is for PvE which is what you asked for.

There is no "best" weapon for PvE.

If you have the best FWG ever made in SWG, u would only gain 1 combat xp per kill if your hunting rancors on dath.. Why you ask? Because of damage type, and resistance. FWG fires heat, and rancs are 100% heat resitance. Switch to a DX2 and U got acid damage, and rancs dosent deal very well with acid.

Meet me with a scoutblaster in PvP, and u will lose. Try with a weapon that deals stun damage, and u will (hopefully not) kick my arse.

All in all, always /examine a creature u dont know its weaknesses, and chose the best weapon for the job.

And as a tip, pistols are usely always fast enough for PvE (at last as long as they are faster then 2,5 aprox) damage is the clue. The more the better. And use damage power ups, and u be reaping pistol xp faster then ever!
