Thread: The dodge animation is NOT fixed for Pistoleers

Earlier, there was a question surrounding the patch notes for Publish 7 when it hit TC. They said that the dodge animation was fixed for Fencers (the animation would not fire if the player was running, but the dodge would work), but there was no mention of fixing it for Pistoleers.


I was assured by the developers that the intent was to apply the fix to both professions, and it was an error in the notes. I attained terminal access on TC and tested it. The fix appeared to be working. I dodged a few times while running and the animation did not play, over the course of a couple of play sessions. Recently I found out that either I was wrong, or something changed after I tested it. The dodge animation is still functioning in the way we are all used to. "Run, stop, dodge, resume."


Because I reported it so late, the bug has made it to Live servers. I don't log into Test Center every day, so I didn't catch the shift until only a few days before the patch was scheduled to hit Live. In the future I will be more rigorous in my testing, and continue testing to ensure that things remain working.


The good news is that I added an addendum to the report stating that the bug was pushed to Live, and reminded Thunderheart that this is still a Top 5 Issue. I'm working with FURY_Chaser (Fencer Correspondent) to see if the animation fix is even working for Fencers. If it is working for them, I'll be pushing for a hotfix.

Thanks for the info. Appreciate your efforts Randonb. This is very annoying, specially in the geno cave when there are multiple genosians firing at me and I cant move because I'm dodging half the time.




As it stands, what this patch has done for my character (Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler/Master Teras):


1) Moved republic blaster to Pistoleer profession

2) Nerfed panic shot to another worthless special (like I'm not used to it being a Master Pistoleer)

3) Dodge was not fixed for Pistoleers but might have for Fencers


Thats it?


I guess at this rate by the time the Combat Balance comes around I'll be using Teras Kasi 100% of the time instead of 95% like I do now.
