What kind of damage does this move use? I mean it looks like it would be kinetic or is it the type of damage your gun is? Like a FWG5 would be heat damage.

I believe that it is the same as the gun you are using. Not that I've tested it or anything but if it's too much trouble to make it an actual melee attack (as opposed to the very short range ranged attack that it is now) I imagine that making it just kinetic damage is too much of a bother also.
