I was trying out one of my first characters the other day on corbantis and me wookie has a republic blaster, now i kno you get the cert at novice pistoleer but my wookie isnt that advanced yet can still use this gun. Did i keep the original cert? or did they make the gun cert to anyone (as like the pre nerf nyms)?? thx

There is nothing in the game that prevents anyone from using a weapon they are not certified in. However the catch is you don't do as good with the wep as someone certified would (damage wise) as well as, the weapon in the hands of someone not certified in it makes the weapon decay faster.

oh yes, i can hold any weapon i feel like, but ala pre nerf sluggies i can use this gun at full power even if i'm, not a novice pistoleer. Just wanted confirmation really as i'd guess all these made before the patch would be useable by anyone.

Republican blasters created pre -"nerf" (the certadded to Novice Pistoleer) still remain usable at maximum power. Republican blasters created post - "nerf" must be used by a Novice Pistoleer to achieve full potential.

Otherwise it would be pretty annoying - you log on one day and going to test your Republican blaster you bought the day before, and realise you're hitting for 10 damage.
