This is an aoe shot, it affects the area in front of you in a cone shape. To get the mob in the cone you could kite them, have a pet or person tank them for you (even non-ch 6-3-1 pets), or shoot directly at the lair whilst they heal it within your cone of fire.

I would definately get fan-shot, not only for the shot itself which is awsome once you learn how to use it right. But also for the Defences you get with the same skill box. I would then recommend that you go up either accuracy or speed trees next (personally I would do accuracy first). You can do dodge tree last as that one more or less simply increases your defenses and doesnt do much for your offensive power.
Good luck Gunslinger,

Thanx for the input guys.
@ Gooney well the speed line is the one that goes up with combat xp right? So i should go for fanshot (4-5 kills and i'm done), get the sped (goes up alone with combat xp) then the accuracy and end with the dodge line?
thanx!

Thats what I would do mate.
First time I mastered Pistoleer I when up marksman line first (accuracy), second time techniques (defenses). Went faster the second time but thats probably because I knew what I was doing. Id say its a toss up actually. You cant really go wrong with either one, its just that tech line gives you one of your real bread-n-butter shots first (fanshot).
Dodge line can wait till last, your right about the speed of course, youll likely get the last box of that line at about the same time your working on the last box of dodge line.

When i master this profession it was on savage quenkers before they upped them a little. I hardly missed so the accuracy tree seemed wasted for the most part of "grinding" so i went up the dodge tree. Great to sidestep most of the hits on you

Thats a valid point, however, seeing as your buffed the damage you receive is quickly recouped. If you are going to do any PVP at all on the way upthe accuracy will serve you far better than the dodge.

Hi peeps,
i'm actually 0.0.3.3 pistol, 21.000 xp away from 0.0.4.3 and fanshot. I took this route as i read on these forums that fan shot was THE special to get to grind faster. Now, i thought it was an AOE shot..but i read somewhere that it was infact a cone and not aoe (ie : all around you).
How do you handle it then? Kite? I didnt try it out yet (obviously) but all the mobs i encountered so far surrounded me, they just dont stop in line
Should i take some of the marksmanship line before trying fanshot (accuracy while moving) so i can kite with more efficiency ?
thanx in advance

Fan shot is really useful, especially in say Fort Tusken but if you're like me and don't have any pets once the mobs get close to you, I'd suggest you try pointblanksingle2, it goes a good amount of damage in my experience once a mob gets close Pistol whip it and then use point blank. I've even played around a bit with point blank area2, which only hits the targeted mob but the damage amount is better than say health shot. just somethings you could try and play around with.
