I use the Master Pistoleer/BH Pistol/DF Pistol Template and without a doubt, Lowblow is worth its weight in gold. Since its the only Pistol Knockdown, its very good as an opening attack or as a delay move to escape. If you have a good pistol, Last Ditch is also very good. A guy in my guild has a very nice Geo Pistol and was doing 1000 damage with Last Ditch against a person with armor.

Me personally, I tend to open with a Low Blow, do a Torso Shot, maybe a bleeding shot, then just spam Eyeshot.

Last Ditch is more of a PvE attack, unless you have a really smoking pistol

Well panic is useless now unless u dont use dots and come on... who dont?

Last Ditch is awesome! Stun stat is great along with intimidate

And of course FD you will never die unless u want to... what more u want?

Lowblow great when your trying to get away from those melee fighters.

I love smuggler but only because i have BH speed also so i recommend having that too.

Well, I've been a Master Pistoleer for awhile now and I've also been away from the game for awhile (like 6 months). Since I had so much pistol XP built up, I decided to pick up the DF line and just see what all the talk was about. OMG!! Low Blow beats the hell outta anything we got! It's simply awesome and very rarely misses.

If you get swarmed by a bunch-o-baddies, LB tab, LB tab, LB tab then set bleeds, by the time they get up, Fan Shot till your done. It's soooo incredibly easy I can't believe I didn't pick this up sooner. I'm almost to LD and I'm really excited to see how powerful that is.

By all means, if you like pistols, you gotta get the DF line in smuggler!!! I am seriously blown away by how much more powerful I am in this game, from just this one box...Low Blow. It's really a shocker and a shame that there is not something like this in our tree.

**EDIT** I wanted to add that I just re-read your thread topic. Sorry, my bad. If you wanna PvP and be strong, you should switch classes. I've got a goodbye thread that explains my experience with the difference between melee and pistoleer. Here's the link.. HOwever, if you want to stay with pistols, you should by all means pick up the DF line....no question in my mind. The specials are well worth the skill points.

best specials for pistoleer

and Feign death

panicshot is great for kiting...panicshot delays the group, then you concentrate on one during that ten seconds...and repeat

lastditch: awesome damage + stun which sticks very easy

low blow: ok, better than nothing lol (one of the best ranged KD tho)

Right now, I'm Master BH, Pistoleer 1-0-4-3 and DF 2. (Ultimately going for Master Pistoleer, DF4 and BH Pistol 4).

I've found that Panic Shot is very nice following a successful knockdown from Melee Defense - while fighting Mokks last night I would knock one down, delay him, and then Stopping Shot 3 or 4 times to kill him before he could do anything.

I'm looking forward to getting Low Blow and Last Ditch - as a BH I learned the value of knockdown but now that I no longer have CH skills and don't use carbines, I would like a way to knock down my targets at range. When fighting a small group, I will often KD, move onto the next and repeat, then start working on the first guy. It's a lot easier to get the job done when the others aren't attacking you.
