Hi people,
I just hit 0.0.4.4 yesterday and was trained the whooping fan shot ability.
As i heard how this was a killer shot, i headed to Dantooine and took easy quenker missions, just to try it out
Well...err...how do you guystoy whith it?
As read on these forums, i tried various stuff like shooting the lair only to make the mobs heal it and shoot them all at the same time (but usually only 1 quenk goes to the lair, the rest keeps surrounding me), i also tried to move back and forth to keep them "in line" behind me...but well, anyway, it went much faster when i took them separately and spammed healthshot
Did i miss something? Wrong mob to xp on maybe?
Thanx for enlighting me with your great knowledge

Well since fanshot shoots in a cone, the only real ways are going back and forth as you described and having a friend/pet tank for you to keep everyone inside the cone. I agree, going back and forth gets kinda frustrating. Happy hunting.

Use a geo blaster. That way you don't damage the lair when you're shooting and the quenkers won't keep healing it.
Healthshot1 (Healthshot2 when you get faster) is going to outdamage fanshot though. Kinda dumb that such low-ranking attacks are the best a pistoleer has.

You are fighting wrong mob. Quenkers will surround but Pikets usually line up in front of you.

I have experimented with this some, and it works for me. I am still a n00b Pistoleer, however, so take this advice with a grain of salt.
1. Know your prey - make sure that you use the right weapon for the job. Carry multiple weapons that to multiple damage types so you can target their weak spots.
2. Hit and Run - don't run back and forth. Run in a circular or s-type pattern. I tried this last night on several lairs. Running side to side netted be a ton of damage, but while running circles around the lair, I actually regenerated health and action. I tried this on Quenker Relic Reapers, Dantari Raiders, and Hurrtons. Seemed to work the same for all of them. Also, running in circles spamming fanshot seemed to hit and do just as much damage as running in a straight line.
3. Know your specials - this is the same with any profession. You have to know the strengths and weakness of all your specails. This is what seperates a true master elite fromone who did the grind. Never get comfortable in your combos until you are truely killing efficiently.
Again, this is adivcefrom a n00b Pistoleer. If any of you pro's out there canadd or detract from this, please do so.

Personally speaking... i hit quenkers of whatever description and then shot up the lair to draw them all out, then round around spamming fan shot.. reason chose quenkers is that they give best value for XP...
If you need credits, u can also do same on Janta and Mokk on Dant
Have fun

Have you triedBlood Razor (or other pirate)missions on Lok? Blood Razors will pretty much stand there and try to return fire, and if you line them up correctly, you can go to town on them all day with fan shot. It's even better if you stumble onto a random spawn on Blood Razors, and just go back and forth killing them all.
