Thread: NS Elder + Launcher Pistol = ....?

Ok... NS Elders are Vulnerable to Blast... meaning even with AP3... blast will still get through at full strength. Has anyone tried to take an elder with a LP? If so, how did it work? I built my template out to try this... but if anyone has any input, please let me know so I dont waste time.

i have been a pistoleer for a good while so i really never hunt nightsista's
so im not super familiar with the exact resists on the different types, but if they are vuln to blast then id imagine youd own them with a launcher pistol. Or, you could take on the AR1 ones that are only 40% kinetic and use a tangle pistol, but we all know how bomb-diggity tangle pistols are...or aren't there 40% energy AR1 ones? if so, those are the ones to pimp with your trusty rep. blasta
i remember when i was trying to get a singing mountain clan force crystal for display, and i was doing the singing mountian theme park. i had to kill several NS which were no prob. then i got to the point where i had to kill some that were 100% resist to all my attacks, so i had to torso shot and burn em to death. i just torso shot and stand there while they beat on me, til they die. i had to kill a few of those. then suddenly halfway thru the theme park i have to be rebel to continue. how lame is that

Ok. I've done my fair share of NS hunting... The only things you need are Blast and Energy. I can almost GUARENTEE that if you find a Nightsister that is 100% to energy.. It will be vulnerable to blast.. and vice versa. I think i'll head my way up the template i had planned and let everyone know how it worked. Thanks for the reply

That's incorrect;Elders have 5% to blast. (Five or 10%, I can't remember exactly.) So no, that heavy armor is gonna cut down the damage of the LP pretty bad.

thats incorrect its 25 % to energy and blast vuln to lightsaber only

NS Elder + Launcher Pistol = no less than 45 minutes of kiting and thats if you dont get force powered to death, that and if you have my luck if/when u do manage to kill her the loot always sucks.
I would say that as far as pistoleers go its not worth the time/effort.

I have used pistols vs nightsisters sometime ago, launcher didn't do very well so I used the rep blaster or DE-10 (didn't want to waste condition) however on certain types of nightsisters with 5% kinetic the Striker pistol is alot of fun to use (I used a 125-225 one) and had no probs.
And yes Elders has 25% vs energy and blast.

I've tried hunting all sorts of NS with a launcher pistol it works well. But taking down an elder is just not worth it unless your with a team.
Its way to much work for a low probability of getting somehting worth it.
All the NS have either low resistance to energy, and then a de-10 takes them down fast, or to blast and kinetic.
Yes kinetic, get yourself good striker pistol and you'll do good.
The one I have is 244dmg, a gift from Cyrus who crafted it. I have to thank him cause I never have to use it unless I meet a protector or a spellweaver.
With a good striker you have to get novice commando. Saving your skills is worth some investement dont you think?
Finnally, the launcher pisotl is uniquely good at only one thing - taking down AT-ST.

What about a good Striker Pistol. Course the striker doesnt have any AP. Well scratch that.

I believe that the elder is 100% kinetic though I havent hunted one in a while. The damage you want on an elder like said before is energy, blast, or lightsaber. Striker works nice on some of the little lower level things that are 100% energy resists.
That being said, an elder eats me as a master pistoleer/smuggler like none other. You will want like two tanks(melee stackers) so that you can just sit back and wail on the elder with an energy weapon or LP if you have a nice one and not worried about lag.

I have soloed the NS except for the Elder with a launcher pistol. If you use torso or eye shot you can take them down pretty quick. Just kite the Sentinals. A good speed slice or coupler powerup helps alot. I don't use anything else but my launcher when I hunt the NS. Just don't try to fight more than 2 sentinals at once and you can do easily.
