So there was the big patch today with the creature revamp etc. I wanted to test mitigation range so anyway I started some easy light blues missions.. Got kinda surprise when I had to put my armor on because I was getting literally owned by light blues mobs using their special all the time and hitting me for 300 +.

After getting beat down 2/3x I ask in my guild if they are noticing the same thing than me and they tell me no not really but they don't get hit much. At this point I started looking at the different elite profession and noticed this. Pistoleer have completly **edit**ty defenses, compare to a TKA or a fencer or a rifleman and its ridiculous... I m 4/4/4/3 and unless the master + grip IV give some insane defense boost this is kinda stupid. I ll have 23 ranged defense only ( + 10 for master ranger), dodge trigger almost never in pvp and around 15% in PVE.

So my conclusion is a master pistoleer is seroiusly weak on its own and coupled with a master ranger my template is basically **edit**ty for a combat profession. Most likely to drop all my rangers skills aside from frontiering IV ( I hated camp xp) and get the defense line of the TKA and the one of the fencer. I love fan shot/stopping shot/pistol melee defense so I don't want to surrend my pistoleer tree but I m kinda disapointed.

Am I missing something or the class is just weak on its own ?

Nope you didnt miss anything pistoleer has to be helped out by another profession.

I am a Master Doctor/Master Pistoleer (Not Master Gunfighter ROFL) suggestions for pistoleer to keep alive and be a threat even in PVP

1. Armor if you are fighting TKA and BH get armor with special protection close to 70% for acid and kinectic the higher the better

2. Get the best gun you can buy on your server unkrayted i have a 109-285 2.2 DX2 after slice and powerup i bought for 14.5k

2. Get a Doctor to Buff you and a Master Dancer to buff your mind

3. Get experimented D's to 40 med use if not doctor, if only novice get best stim b's you can find

4. Before you fight acquire and consume Angerian Fishak Suprise and Muon Gold

5. For BH try Pistol Melee Defense and bleeds spam fanshot. (fanshot hits mind alot more than others to me)

6. TKA ,COMMANO you better kite like nobodys business stack bleeds and stay 30meters out to avoid both flame and TKA dizzy and knockdown attack. Knockdown is not so bad when you add a dizzy to it watch out.

7. Fence/Pistoleer/Smugger dirty fighting be as accurate as you can spam fanshot lol but in the end be in a large group and pray for this class is the best PVP in the game.

You're right on the money, although Phantom gave you some good advice. Since everyone in PvP has Doctor buffs and well experimented Stim Bs nowadays, you're screwed as a Pistoleer ... spamming BodyShot or FanShot won't do anything against those guys. Without any state effects or the ability to target mind, you're in trouble. You'll also find that it is very difficult to hit melee after the last patch (Rifleman too, with +78 Ranged Defense).

We do need some help, without a doubt. Your best bet, right now, is to go get another profession. The Smuggler Dirty Fighting line is very powerful, some of the melee profs like TKA and Fencer are powerful, etc.

Right now Pistoleer is totally broken unless you get one of your other profs. It absolutely sucks that Pistoleer/Rangers like you get screwed and basically have no choice except to play a profession you don't want, but right now that's your only option, unfortunately.

Absolutely right, I'm doing more damage and killin bigger stuff as a 0/0/4/4 pistoleer with the DF line than I ever did as a master pistoleer.
