I read that if you use a republic blaster (AP1) against an opponent without armor you receive some kind of a damage bonus. Does anyone know exactly what this bonus is, or can confirm that it even exists? Also, does this work against creatures without armor or just in PVP.

Yes the rep blaster will get bonuses. U will only see the increases in the floating damage above their head.

On an unarmored PC I usually do 25% more damage using one.

The existence of the AP damage bonus is pretty easy to confirm - just shoot an ordinary Vynock (no Armor, Resistances, or Vulnerabilities) with your Republic and compare the combat spam damage report with the damage number that floats over the target's head (or the amount of damage on the target's HAM bars). You'll find that the "float" damage is 25% higher than the combat spam damage, which is exactly what is predicted for an AP1 weapon (the calculation might be off by a point or so do to the way the game handles rounding). Then shoot the Vynock again with an AP0 Scout Blaster - the "float" damage will be identical to the combat spam.

The AP damage bonus is not applied to targets that are Vulnerable to the weapon's damage type. It is also not applied to unarmored players since the game reads them as being Vulnerable to everything.

Thanks a lot everyone. That was exactly what i needed to know. Guess i'll look for a republic blaster since i had a critical failure trying to repair my pre nerf krayt FWG5 last night.

I love the rep. blaster but too bad it looks like a metallic di1do.

I always imagined the think as a bastardized Super Soaker somebody filled with milk...
