Thread: I Have the Repub Blaster Cert How Did I Get It?
This is just something I've been curious about forever since I've heard the latest on people not having the Republic Blaster cert (I know it doesn't make a difference now since everyone can use them, I just thought it was wierd that I have it). Basically, I have no idea where I GOT the Republic Blaster cert. I haven't been able to find it in Marksman or Pistoleer, and it seems like there are many people who have advanced higher into Pistoleer and don't have the cert. So, if anyone has any ideas how I got the cert, I'd be interested.
The curious thing (and I'm not sure about this) is I think I might have gotten the cert while still a RIFLEMAN.... andI have no idea how that could have happened. There's only twoI can think ofthat I did differently from the average Pistoleer...
1) Istarting as a Rifleman (I played once since beta and finally switched to Pistoleer in the high tide of the warping mobs phase, though I've kept one tree of Rifle).
2) I did all the Valarian missions in Eisley (almost everybody and their mother does the Jabba missions instead). This is interesting because the first or second Valarian mission from her male lieutenant nets you a shiny new Republic Blaster as a reward (it's the same mission that makes Valarians like you and aggro Valarians not attack you). I got the Repub Blaster as a Rifleman and gave it to a friend (who was currently a Pistoleer) but he said he couldn't use cause he didn't have the cert.
So, it's a mystery to me why I have a Repub Blaster cert when so many others don't. It really has no bearing on the current game mechanics, but I thought I'd put it out there for comments and to try to satisfy my own curiousity.
Short answer -- no one knows why some people get the cert and others don't.
At this point, the cert doesn't matter anyway since everyone can use the pistol.
Hmm... I was pretty much aware of that Phil, but I appreciate the response. I guess I'll just have to let my morbid curiousity fester...
