Okay, I've started up the Pistoleer tree, and was wondering what kind of strategies for combat people use? I always find that if I don't use a pet I get owned by harder mobs, and other people aren't, so I KNOW I'm not seeing something. People talk about doing 2000 damage, and the MOST I've done is about 500.

I bow to the collective wisdom that resides in this forum and beg you all to impart the wisdom of your experience upon this lowly beginner in the pistoleer profession.

PvE strategies are more welcome, as I don't do a lot of PvP.

get to 0/0/4/0 first, thats what i did, the specials help u ALOT, esspecially stopping shot on critters, not so much on npc's tho.
ive found doin giant baz nitch missions, fire off a good couple of stopping shots on each critter and they become so slow, u can stop to dance while they try and attack u heh
u just run round spamming fan shot to hit em all as much as possible with one special.
make sure u fire a few more stopping shots off too to keep em slowed down, and bleed each one asap, so ur causing max dmg as u attack with fanshot.

This is my strategy.

1) Go prone.

2) Aim, then hit the creature/person with bleed (both bleeds if you have them).

3) Hit with as many body shots as possible before the bleed hits and I'm noticed.

4) If it's big, and not close to dead yet, try to kite it. If you're a ranger/scout, throw glow juice, phecnacine, and adhesive mesh.

5) Meanwhile, keep pumping the body shots.

Well, there is not real end all strategy.

Melee fighters, go to max distance and double bleed then BS2 or what even high damage shot you can spam, while always keepping the max distance.

Range fighters, double bleed, hide (in Rori use the trees) and move while always spamming you best shot.

For me, I have two other advantages, Eye Shot and Torso Shot. So I normally double bleed, burn, and blind. Then just run around while spamming Stopping Shot unless closely grouped, then Fan Shot.
