I see a lot of posts where everyone swears by armor. There are ways around it. I personally just don't like using armor.

If you can spare the creds get good doctor buffs (expect to pay around 8k although some will do it cheaper). Have a crate of muon or some vaserian brandy if you can get it. Go to yavin and hunt mamians and/or mawgaxes.

No armor needed, and the payout on the missions is around 5-8k (just depends on difficulty). I have done almost all of my weapon levelling this way, and no I'm not a wookie I'm human.

OK, usually post this in Smuggler forum, but here goes (my friend got Master Pistoleer doing this with no smuggler skill too).

Here is my step by step guide to hunting Giant Baz Nitches and why I love hunting them so. It isa bitgrindy, but you make money and pistol XP by the truckload. Once I got Last Ditch it was pretty easy to make 150k of pistol XP per hour of play (not counting your initial time getting buffs). Obviously there are other ways to get XP fast, but I play at odd hours and prefer soloing (and have no pets) so this fit my playstyle perfectly.

Giant Baz Nitches of Dathomir: They do kinetic damage, they give 3.5+k pistol per kill, they pay 11000 credits per mission, and have no resistance to heat damage so FWG5s will mow them down. That 11k credits per mission adds up like you wouldn't believe. The other important thing is you just need a set of high-kinetic resist (60%+) Ubese armor. You will feel a touch of peril when there is a Rancor or Nightsister lair 90m away from yours, but you learn how to avoid those pretty well.

My precise technique was this:

Wear high Kinetic resist Ubese
Equip an nice FWG5 (prenerf if you can get/afford it)
Get buffed by a Master Doctor
Fly to Dathomir
Get 2 Giant Baz Nitch Missions in a similar direction
Fly out to the mission
If there is anything else around that I might want to hunt (no heat resists, kinetic damage creature) I don't take my Muon Gold till I need if from my specials wearing down my mind pool
Fight! Fight! Fight!
Drive to the next mission during the downer from the spice

Agreed. You need to build up a little stash before you can do this. On my server the cash outlay would be something like 130k for the Ubese, a couple of FWG5s, your first few doc buffs, a few crates of powerups, a couple crates of Muon, and your travel tickets. But once you get this going, you will never want for cash while grinding.

But for that initial cash buildup, grouping on Dantooine is about as fast as it gets.

Yeah right now im not making enough. it would take me forever to get enough cash to buy ubese. Add in the weapon costs from damage and other things and im looking at a few weeks at best for this little piggy.

I ahve tried grouping in Coronet for those Piket looking things. Average responce is "sorry dont do enough damage" or "dont need a pistoleer" so this isnt working out to well.

Just one more thing m8. When i started out i did a lot of faction missions, and they gave me descent cash. As a total newbie I made about 40-50k pr day, playing about 4-5 hours. A good place could be restuss on rori, the distances are very short there. Take to missions in the same dir, the difficulty is up to u, then u should be able to make some fast cash to get u some nice armor and weapons, which really helps. In addition u get faction points, which u can use to get armor, weapons and a Stormtrooper helper. The Stormtroopers function very good as a shield, and will let u do tougher missions.
