Well I am almost Novice Pistoleer It is my ONLY combat proffesion/skill right now, as I am going for master dancer and musician first.

I had a rep blaster to grind through pistol tree. Worked great 207 dam 1.7 spd, deteriorated QUICKLY det completely right before making pistolIV. the DX2 I have has 187 dam 1.7 spd. Neitehr was krayt of course.

Now What is everyones preffered gun for a strictly pistoleer? No scatter or nothin here.

And how much are the prices normally on karyt guns? had a guy ask 3mill for a krayt Rep blaster and 7 mil for a krayt DX2 earlier. To much IMHO. thanks.

Get yourself a pre-nerf FWG5. Don't pay out money for krayt guns unless you go hunting with big groups.

How will I know it is a pre nerf other than the persons word? As far as stats go?

To do pistoleer properly you need a range of weaponry. One of the strengths of pistoleer is it wide range of damage types and we will allways pick the pistol that exploit's weaknesses in our enemies defences to the full.

So you need (sliced of course, and powered up if you wish) the following at least :-
FWG (heat)
Republic Blaster (energy)
DX2 (Acid)
Tangle (stun)
Striker (kinetic)

Many pistoleer's also carry or at least have, DL44's (which are actually quite nice weapons against non-armoured targets), D18's, SB's and SR's to complete the set .

I mainly use a 1.8 100-193 Scout Blaster and a 112-198 2.6 DX2.

I can't comment on the Striker since I never owned one, but Tangle Pistols have usually crappy stats and aren't even worth using when the target has stun vulnerability and up to 80% resists on the other dmg types (like composite armour).

FWG5s are nice for their heat damage but have a way too high damage range to be worthwhile IMO and Republic Blasters are just hairdryers turned weapons

And then there's the Launcher Pistol, which isnt necessarily a Pistoleer weapon but still decent. Good damage, a rare dmg type (Blast) and great range modifiers.

But as Shivash mentioned, it's necessary to carry at least 3 different damage types with you when playing Pistoleer.

I carry and use:

Light FWG

Republic Blaster

Mod. Republic Blaster

DX2

Scout Blaster (for busting lairs)

Tangle Pistol (for the PvP I am afraid to do, but might need if the Overts catch me doing a faction sale)

I bought a krayt DL-44 for 100k as my utility-weapon (no vulnerabilities). Additionally, I pack the following:

FWG - Heat-vulnerable mobs
DX2 - Armored or acid-vulnerable mobs
Stryker - Kinetic-vulnerable
Stun - It blows and I never use it, but I hang onto one in case a mob that's 100%eff to everything except stun shows up
Launcher - Lagpistol for pvp

For general-purpose use (grinding), I stuck with low-enc pistols that were cheap to replace when they wore out (ie DH17). I didn't invest in a krayt until I was done with my grinding.
