Ok so I'm dinking around in Bestine the other day and I see a group of stormies at 3 O'clock. I'm thinking "ooh there are only 4 of them. This should be fun." So I check around and it there are no players around so I figure I'll take out the stormies and take off before anyone shows up. I click on the first stormtrooper and he's red to me. I made sure I had my blaster equipped and checked again. Still red. I check my skills to make sure I'm a master pistoleer and BH 0 0 2 0. Yep all there. Still red to me. I'm like what the heck? I'm a MASTER pistoleer with BH skills to back me up. So why can't I take ONE stormtrooper? What would I have to take to be evenly matched with one? It seems to me that I should already be able to take one on one. I should be able to take on 4 of them. Any thoughts?

the stormtroopers walking around bestine arent regular stormies. these new stormies are sergeants, they have the hsoulder pad thats how you can tell the difference. they also come with light armor and 100% heat resist among other things. just take out your dx2 or republic and you can take them fairly easily.

the con system of swg is really really borked. it doesnt factor in buffs/ armor/ defense mods/ level of weapon equipped/ target resists and vulnerabilities/ etc.

i admit it would be really complicated for soe to factor all these variables in to the con system, but i find myself soloing multiple con red aggros simultaneously all the time.


you should not have any problem with these stormies.

Yeah but no non-named NPC should be more powerful than any one player who has mastered a combat profession. If they are, they shouldn't be RED to someone who has mastered a combat profession. A stormie would be a carbineer + commando as a very elite. I could see that being yellow to me, but not red. I shouldn't be completely owned by a non-named NPC.

true, but if you play it right you wont get owned...its just the con system thats screwy like the other pseron pointed out
a group of these guys landed in my guilds city...i hit powerboost (no buffs) grabbed my republic and nailed them with a panic shot...repeated fanshots and a couple heals and all 12 of the were on the floor. you just need to examine things and see their reists before attacking. oh and these sergeants also have another 1-2k ham when compaired to the regular breed.

I've been jumped shipped twice now, and i have to say its nice to see the empire delivering FP to me instead of em having to go out for it .

I don't have powerboost... I do, however, have medic skills.

Storm Troopers are my new favorite mob to hunt. They're everywhere now! Just power up your Republic blaster and rip them to shreds. It's nice. They almost always go prone first so you can rush in and pistol whip them while they're on the ground, then just obliterate those snowflakes.

Just do what I do, Attack everything that is attackable heh. I havent met one thing (other than Krayts and Blurgg Raptors) that I havent been able to take on this game. Practically anything with an approximate max of 12-13k gets owned and my favorite past time is going to rebel cities and clearing out their uber bases letting them respawn and taking them out again for about an hour or two a night to earn me some faction.
