Thread: Why we shouldn't have to get other profs to be good.

Why can a master rifleman own in pvp with just rifleman...Same goes with tkm. Why ??? I have no earthly idea. Im really stumped. Pistoleers have to either pick up a good prof like tk or cm to be good...Or we could go plan b, just pick up smugg or bh and pretend to be a pvper...Yes there is other combos but i dont think it is right the way people have to pick up multiple profs to "own". Where is this so called combat roles and profession roles ???

as it stands man just becouse ppl have a rifle in there hands doesnt mean they are only rifleman.. In fact Rifleman/TKA is the most stacked profession ATM.. ppl with those godly def's from TKA,fencer, pistoleer(state defs).. the reason they do so well is you cant hit them..
Now in a couple of weeks that will be over with so the gap between the pvp templaters and the ppl who arnt 100% pvp will lessen. just chill out for acouple of weeks and it will be all different.
Remember if someone spends all his/her skill points on combat and you only get pistoleer or anything for that matter they will beat ya 99.9% of the time its just the nature of skill point systems..

plain master riflemen do still rock in pvp. just because you can actually hit those that arent dabblers doesnt mean they dont kick ass.
heres why they kick ass:
their weapons are 3 times as powerful as normal pistols but can still fire as fast as a pistol at master level. they have an ap1 *stun* damage weapon.
i hear there may be some good solutions coming in the future. jawa possibly turned to electricity damage, and a 2 second speed cap for rifleman. i heard pistoleers might get a .5 second cap also. which imo would even the profs out quite a bit

nope...pistoleer is 1.0 sec., carbineer is 2.0 sec and rifleman is 3.0 sec... I wish it was carbineer 1.5 and rifleman 20 sec with the same pistol cap.

If you really think TKA is that great on it's own, get a set of buffs and 80% kinetic composite. As far as Rifleman on their own, get buffs get the same uber composite and throw in a 30+ stun resist composite helm. Now, pick up a few krayt/enhanced weapons and you might have a chance of winning
If you don't have the money....then i guess you just lose.
Anyone that has JUST rifleman JUSTtka or JUST pistoleer shouldn't attempt to seriously pvp anyways. You have to dedicate your entire template if you truely want to compete, so don't expect magic when you get to a master box of any combat proffesion.

I think the point is that with just rifleman or just TKA you at least have a chance of winning. If you don't then you can at least do some damage to the other guy before you go down. The way PVP is now with all of the high end armor and buffs just a Pistoleer will hardly scratch the paint on the other guy's armor.

are you joking? i have a 30% stun resist comp helm and they still shoot me for 2-300 with jawa and at least 150 non enhanced at 1 sec a shot. what do i get? a hvf tangle 219 max dmg with powerup that does random ham at 3.1 speed with the worst accuracy possible vs rifleman's 170 offence mod. talk to the hand.

The only thing that gets me about the stun pistols is you have to be what 45m or less to use it. Giving everyone else a chance to blast away.

As to the "stun layered helm > than rifleman with Jawa" argument goes you are aware that they don't ONLY hit the head right? A full set of stun layered comp is crazy heavy. Yes the Sonic blaster is nice, but an elec Jawa and a better Tangle are only pipe dreams right now. Remeber when the 0.5 speed cap was bein pushed around as a definate? it was junked because " the DBase would have problems with a speed cap not a whole number" or some such non-sense.
Believe it when it happens, no sooner. Check out the responses from the devs on out top5 issues thread if you want to see how accurite their predictions are. The dodge animation was fixed months ago if you believe them, and this mythical combat balance will fix everything. So much for the "all at once" method they had been touting for the combat balance. The dribs and drabs that have been leaked into live have not helped us a bit. FWG nerf, bleed nerf,the inclusion of a pistol dancers can use as our new weapon, the introduction of several new pistols, all of them marksman certs, but ignore all that, we did get a looted pistol that is essentially a tangle and a half. Now if only it made my specials work as intended it might be worth something.
Don't hold your breath. Between my Jedi and my Pistoleer I'm getting used to being ignored. Ya Jedi got some love, but there are glaring mistakes that should have been ironed out in Beta ( if they decided to have one for player Jedi) Pistoleer is just not important enough to get attention I guess. Sux to be us.

lol bewary Ignored huh. well yea it guess its kinda true but we should all be thankfull that we arnt pikeman
ahahah that class gets nerfed every time they change some thing it effects those poor buggers..

3 second speed cap and electric jawas on the way vs new tangle schemtic and geno blasters. problem will be solved in less than 2 publishes.
