It looks like i should be learning either intermediate marksmanship or intermediate grips and stances for my first 175000 pistoleer XP...right?

any pistoleer vets want to help me with this decision.

Thanks in advance

Currently I'm working on getting Fan Shot ASAP, because the skills below it are very good. Then I'm going up the marksman tree, then last the Body Shot 3 branch. The Melee defence branch should come in time, just do the killing thing.

Well, after the big patch made our accuracy more like it's supposed to have been (AKA, we got nerfed, but we were always supposed to have accuracy issues at longer ranges - we did in beta at one point, and it's one of the basics of the class description - fast attacks, take less melee damage than other ranged attacks, and do best at close distances), I'd recommend taking the line that gives accuracy bonuses (the second one - umm, pistol techniques maybe? I forget the name).

BS2 is your best attack for a long time for targetting a pool. Stopping Shot and Fan Shot do great damage, but it's not pool targetted. BS3 will hopefully one day be better, but currently it's not worth it.

Totally agree with YetiIronfist. Accuracy first, and gather the Melee for speed as you gain combat xp.

Fan shot and Stopping shot appear impressive, but BS2 is your best overall attack. Hitting more often/faster with it makes it even better.

I have to disagree about BS2. Fanshot is my primary shot now. I may not target only H, but most often I hit H or A and do much more dmg, with a faster shot, than BS2.

I suggest Marksman I then Stances IV, then the marksman line then Tactics.

Yeti brings up a good point. Now that out accuracy is hurting at long range, is stances and Grips really the way to go now? Being that the majority of people still use BS2 because it directs the shots to one pool instead of anywhere, wouldn't the accuracy branch be better to go up in first? Or better question yet, sorry, Does anyone know how much of a difference there is by increasing your accuracy by 5? 10?15? ect. will you be able to see the difference?

Bolanos - It isn't a perfect test, but I'll try and remember to find some newbie mob and "play" with it next time I'm about to train. I'll go to fixed distanced and target it and see what the white to-hit modifier number is to the left of its HAM bars. I'll record the number for standing still, moving, kneeling, and prone at each distance I test.

Then I'll train and see what the differences are by retesting the same conditions.

Hmmm... and while I'm at it, I'll confirm that those numbers have nothing at all to do with WHAT I have targetted, but just my weapon, distance, and whether I'm still, moving, prone, or kneeling.

Sweet! Thanks Yeti, that will be great I already started with stances and grips but if your test comes out in favor of theaccuracy, then I see myself climbing adifferent tree first. Thank you for taking the time to do this Yeti
