Pistoleer Archive

I've just obtained enough xp to get smuggler, and I'm only 10k or so away from novice pistoleer. I want to know which everyone feels is the best profession to go for first. I know dirty fighting works really well in PvP but how about PvE? I'm not all that into the PvP aspect of the game b/c I still don't think it works quite right.

So if I'm a PvE'er not a PvP'er, which profession should I choose to follow?

i am both, plan to master both, but i consider Smuggler my primary profession. It completely depends on your play style, and really the two classes cannot be compared like this.

Pistoleer is a straight up elite combat class

Smuggler is a hybrid profession that requires tons of crafting as well as pistol. It really should be only DF line that requires pistol xp, Underworld should be completely different.

dirty fighting really fits in well with the smuggler persona, if you are just a smuggler than this line can save ur arse when your in trouble...but it is not a stand-alone line for xping with, its abilities are powerful but are not meant to be spammed or constantly used because of their high action cost and/or delays. DF also doesnt raise your challenge lvl con on creatures, pistoleer trains do.

pistoleer might be worth getting first because the faster you can get pistolwhip the better, it makes your solo xp life 10x better. the stances/grips and marksmanship lines is the bread and butter of pistoleer, gives you better accuracy, dmg, and totally kickass styles.

personally i took Smuggler first because i did the entire Spices line and 3/4th of Slicing before i even touched DF or Pistoleer lines. if you wanna fight and xp asap, take pistoleer, if u wanna craft some and be the smuggler than take that first.
