For those of us that are still trying to learn the terminology will you explain what shots root, snare, etc.
I am MCM also and still trying to figure out what are DoTs,what are States and how to use them properly. That is for a different forum though.
as I understand it....
a root stops movement such as stopping shot
a snare slows movement such as oh, electrolyte drain.
sound right?

for MCM.... my best method is to burstrun in and hit electrolight drain in on the way in, keep going unitl you are about 25m out and hit em with stopping shot. then poison the krayt and set him on fire. then spam bodyshot ranged shot if your sac on you pistol is about 80 or higher, bodyshot/ quickdraw if the sac is lower. run around in circles shooting him reguaryly until the krayt dies, you may have to reapply elctrolight drain once on a juvie.
As for taking a krayt with your template, it can most certainly be done. The biggest thing to remember with the CU is that there are really no more uber templates. there are COMMON templates, and POPULAR templates, but not necessarily more powerful than other templates. In a fight in the CU, it really comes down to whether you know how to use your own template. I have seen a duel between a TKM and a rifleman start with the duelists 70 meters apart, and the TKM destroyed the rifleman within 60 seconds simply because the rifleman didnt know how to use his template yet.
Your gear does still matter, and it is possible that your weapons or armor might be improved a little, but unless the stats on both are horrible, chances are that better gear wont help you out too much. In the end it is just going to take practice.
Something I might recommend is dueling a talented melee character. Start from 35m out, and duel them. The tactics you will learn fighting a talented melee dueler are very similar to what you will need to use against a krayt. Roots, snares, KDs, keeping your distance, using terrain to your advantage, etc. The most instructive duels I have ever had were against a TKM/Swords/Doc....and this one REALLY knows his stuff. Duels are a great source of practice, especially if you can duel someone who is very good with their template and has a good attitude. I had a friend rejoin the game for the first time in 6 months. He didnt know anything about the CU. He respecced into his template, and we dueled. I destroyed him in about 10 seconds. We dueled 30 more times over the next few days, while talking about tactics in voicecomms, and now when we duel it can last for 5-10 minutes or more.
I am not a CM, so I am not the guy to ask about how to beat a krayt with your template. I just wanted to chime in and offer some encouragement.
