Well if any combat profession should get a dual wield it should be pistols they are small enough to handle and the weapon hindrance would then be warranted IMO. My alt is a MBH/MP/CM 0004 and looking for that uber DE-10
Why not cut the dmg on pistoles when 2 items are equipped? to help the devs with the balance and programing issues...example a DE-10 now is
DE-10 Pistol
Max 969.25
Max 969.25
Speed 1.73
Wound 23%
(max dmg may be based on barrel used)
cut this to
Max 484.6
Speed 1.73
wound 23%
The change I would like to see on pistoles is better a min/maxdmg ratiothan carbs or rifles they both have better max dmg and better range (in some cases by a lot ) Pistoles should have an advatage to make up for the short range IMO...
An example of how it could work :
Gun #1
Min : 235
Max : 484
Speed : 1.73
wound : 12%
SAC : 45
Gun #2
Min : 235
Max : 484
Speed : 1.73
wound : 12%
SAC : 45
Both Guns #1 and #2
Min : 470
Max : 969
Speed : 1.73
wound : 24%
SAC : 90
The numbers may not be a perfect example but the point is just give us lower dmg on 2 items...
*Note not everyone would want to dual wield, so maybe it could be a coded were when 1 gun is equipped item shows full mods! when 2 items are equipped its mods are cut by 50% so this way you could do both!
only people that should be able to dual wield in game would be Pistol,Fencer,TKM,and Jedi (1-Hand saber only ) these people are the only ones its makes since for the weapons are small enough to handle this ability and it should be Master Boxs only!
Rifleman,Carbs,Swordsman,Commando,MBH,and Pikemanthe weapons are to big and is not practical for every temp to have this ablity
only available at Master box IE : Mater Pistoles,Master Fencer, Master TK, and Lightsaber Master ( only 1-Hand Sabers ) and again when you have both itmes equiped your weapon stats reduce by 50% or still equal the total of 1 weapon with maybe some benfits and draw backs added for fun
Just idea on how to get it game...Would need some code for sure but its only a variable that would be changed based on the players number of weapons equipped.

spell checked it just for you, next time i post on the Pistoleer forms it wont be at 5am
Maybe its all been said before, not sure this was my first ever post on the pistoleer forms as I just got master the other day, so I have not exactly been keeping up with the current issues in regards to the pistoleer profession. I will stick with the BH and Jedi forms i guess. However,It would be nice to seedual wieldingsome day in this game for theprofessions that should have it anyways.
thanks for the enlightened feedback it was very helpful.
with regards,

My ideas to duel wielding is that for it to be able to work, it would have to be a "elite elite profession", so to be able to duel wield, you have to be a master pistoleer, and then you can take "Duel Wieldist" or "Gunfighter" or something like that. Then you have to grind it out like a normal combat profession to get master whatever. Then allow fencers to do the same thing, and last but not least, make the jedi happy.
The Duel Wielding System
The Diel Wielding system will be very basic, but not. The pistol in each hand will not have cut damage, but will act as their own pistols. They will keep their orginal stats. Kind of like controlling 2 pistoleers at the same time. One pistol will be able to preform a special, and so will the other, so you will be able to chain pistol specicals or find effective combonation of moves. Until master (Duel Wieling proffesion name), there will be a tremendous drawback towards wielding two pistols. First a accuracy pentaly, at novice, the duel wieldist will only be able to to land 1/10 shots. At the forth accuracy, 4/5 of all shots will land. The speed will also be hurt, at novice the speed for each pistol will be doubled (so if you had two pistols with the speed of 2, they each have the speed of 4) at the forth speed branch, your speed will be 1.5 of the base speed. And at master, your speed will be base speed. And of course, each pistol bares its own SAC.
Hopefully this wasnt too confusing. The system for fecners and jedi to duel wield will be the same. I think my system keeps a steady amount of pros and cons for using one or two pistolers...
Pistoleer
Pros
-Low SAC
-Fast
Cons
-Low damage
-Little stragy with specials
Duel Weilding
Pros
-High damage output
-More stragies with specials
Cons
-Tuff Grind to master
-High SAC
Hope this helped

As a two year vet of Pistol, I completely support an elite-elite system, that makes it worth it to tie up the points, and makes the prof respected as a stand alone combat role.
