Thread: pet attacks break stopping shot root

i m MCH/MP and use stopping shot often. since last patch i noticed that my pets break the root. the state icon (root) stays with the target same as the root circles around it, but its heading to me. i have noticed this even in bigger groups when someone else uses stopping shot.

Are you sure thats not a client/server sync issue?
Quite often, when a mob gets hit with stopping shot, the client reports it as rooted in the wrong location, when in fact it has advanced towards you.
You can be getting hit and the mob looks like it was stopped 30m away.

i first thought it was such an issue as i usualy got the lag issue with this too. the target looks like being nailed 30m away but my attacking pets come running to me (so i can assume the position of the target) and i got hit by the critter. when the server/client gets adapted the target is drawn (sometimes as a corpse) to me.
but then i heard this from other MCH/MP too and i tested it - stopping shot without pet attack = no prob - root stays, stopping shot + pet attack = the target always comes for me without caring for the root.
i issued a bug report and hope it will get fixed.

I thought root broke when mob was attacked, otherwise you could use stopping shot once then switch to quick draw until mob died without ever being attacked.
