Ive been using Health Shot 2, followed by body shot 2 until the target died, and it seemed to work as it should. But now I have body shot 3, and it SUCKS! So I noticed that as I use Health Shot 2, it actually does damage to the health pool, despite the fact that it never used to do that. My combat is usually too fast to note how my attacks do, and I want to know what other people think about this. Now I only use health shot 2 and pistol melee defense along with my animals. Shouldnt I use body shot 3, which should do a ton of damage? Why does health shot damage the pool, with damage output anywhere from 200-1200 using a rep blaster? Does it still bleed?

From the Pistoleer FAQ

"HealthShot1 is actually given when the player reached x/4/x/x in the Marksman Tree ("Pistol Specialist"). When fired, the damage number you see on the combat window is NOT damage you just did, it is the value of the "bleed". Now every 20 seconds your opponent will have this damage removed from their Health Bar (the red one) until they're cured or the bleeding stops by itself."

Im confused, anyone else?

All bleeds have been changed so it actually does damage on the initial shot to the proper pool. The sad thing is Healthshot2 is now better than Bobdyshot2.

IMO bodyshot3 is our worst special, and should be our best

To ease your mind, just hink of it like this. You only use Body Shot2 until you get Health Shot, and BodyShot3 is broken.

Isn't that simple?

lol JawaJoey2, thanks, that puts it into perspective.

Seriously though, thanks Randonb. Though I dont know what the devs were smoking when they decided to break bleeds to fix an exploit...

That Band-Aids are always better than stitches ... because they're quicker & easier ...

Apparently It's unimportant if they actually stop the bleeding.

Body Shot 3 has always had a lower DPS and higher ham cost than BS2. Once you reach master, it could be worth your while to switch to Body Shot 3. We've been reporting it for quite some time. The story with bleeds is that players were using them to bleed a target (such as a holocron-dropping NPC or a krayt dragon) then run or bike out of range. They would come back later to find a heavily damaged enemy, which they would either bleed again or finish off.

To fix this, they reduced the damage over time that bleeds do, and had it deal damage on the initial hit. Unfortunately they made the initial hit random HAM damage, which they later switched to pool specific (in our case, Health). The end result is that bleeds are better than Body Shots in every way - speed, damage, and HAM cost. I fear that the fix for this could come in the form of nerfing bleeds in some way, unless we come up with a workable alternative. Don't expect the current state of things to stand. It will be addressed, with or without our input. What can we live with? I would like to see the damage be partially shifted back onto the DoT effect, to the point that Body Shot 3 deals more damage than the initial hit of Health Shot 2.

As it stands now Healthshot 2 is better than body shot 3, less HAM costs, faster and more damaging.
