Thread: Master Pistoleer + Dirty Fighting? Any good?

I'm going for the following template:
Master Pistoleer
Master Swordsman
Novice Medic
Novice Scout (w/ exploration 1)
Novice Smuggler (Dirty Fighting line)
Is the dirty fighting line of smuggler any good with master pistoleer for PvP?

You mean as a master pistoleer, my accuracy is still going to be crap? I admitt, having BH pistol 4 was nice, speed was great but it just wasn't worth all those skill points. The swordsman is mainly for PvE, with the pistoleer and smuggler for PvP

I have +101 pistol accuracy and in PvP I only get a reliable hit chance inside 30m. Although Last Ditch does some good damage and Low Blow KDs your target from time to time, the imo most useful skill in Dirty Fighting is at the moment Feign Death.

I've been master pistoleer for a while and just yesterday I got the dirty fighting tree of smuggler... WOW! The specials actually work! I PvP'd all night using a decent looted sonic blaster (110/210 2.1 speed with a powerup) and did really good, won a lot and only died once to a fencer with a godly acklay stun baton.

That template would be good, but you will probably find yourself using swordsman in pvp also. I was considering it(lol my guild just had some 780 max damage powerhammers made with acklay bones we looted), swords for high level PvE, swords for turrets, pistol for people.

I love it actually...I rarely use any pistoleer specials anymore besides HS2 and PMD1...Hot key some good macros with it and have fun

Master Pistoleer + DF is a good combo. Don't underestimate the hidden value in Last Ditch. Not only is it a powerful attack, it has a 75% chance to stun. That can turn the tables on a defense stacker. You will also pick up a ranged KD and Feign Death. FD is not as attractive in PvP but still has some decent uses. If you can get your weapon down to 1.4 speed, you will be firing almost* every pistoleer and smuggler special at the cap.
My numbers were a bit off previously. 1.4 might still bea bit slow for a 1 sec Last Ditch.

Yes! The Smuggler shots deal more damage, and combined with the Pistoleer dodge & aiming bonuses make a Smuggler/Pistoleer a decent PvP template, as well as being able to do well in PvE. Once I got Master Pistoleer, I also noticed that Lowblow would hit more often.
